Forecasts are up! Feb 26 - March 4

Forecasts can be read here.

This is an interesting week with Mercury retrograde still and now Saturn and Neptune opposing each other.

The past is returning to be dealt with once more.

We also are being urged to deal with our issues, our buttons, our touchy spots.

Amazing growth and amazing change. We'll be somewhere totally new soon enough, so ue the Moment fully for the gift it is, to change your paths to something more fun.

And as always....Feel Good.

Neil

Deja vu?

Noticed you're on repeat? The past returning? Dealt with this before and STILL it returns?

Argh.

Mercury Retrograde continues to pull us back to look and think over our past, and our paths - what was left undone, cast aside, forgotten but not yet resolved. How's that going for you?

You have a second (or third or more) chance at rewriting this scene, how do you WANT it to end?

Meanwhile, we retrograde back to another old issue, that reignites now - when Reality Saturn opposes Fantasy Neptune this Wednesday. On the grand scale we'll get to witness some major news stories in these areas - as the people oppose the hierachy. And people overdose on escapism or else get bent out of shape when the structure of their lives gets bent out of shape, dissolves, caves in or vanishes - like many buildings, structures, rules and systems that are sure to erode or fall this week.

Here's the link to my older post that relates to this in depth, so you can prepare for this time and see what it's all about.

In short - we're wrapping up our old lives, by facing old issues in the very new present.

It's RE-RUN week,
if you're sick of the same drama,

isn't it time to at-tune to another channel?

Forecasts are up!

The Sun moves into Pisces today, the final journey around the zodiac wheel - where we get to dissolve connections with things that no longer are right for us, where we engage in some fantasy, retreat and escapism. Catching up on sleep, taking it easy, enjoying music and magic - it's time to withdraw from life's hectic pace and tune into more spiritual dimensions of life. There's more to life than money, bills, work and cleaning.

The forecasts for the week ahead are up - and you can read them at the site (click the HOROSCOPES link at the bottom of the page), detailing this transition for you into the final sign of the zodiac, and the energies you're dealing with now, at the tail end of the astrological cycle.

Downloading a New Direction: New Moon in Aquarius

It's wish time - the Sun and Moon conjunct in Aquarius Saturday Feb 17th, the New Moon.

Wherever you are, whatever you may be doing, take a moment to close your eyes, light a candle, take some quiet time (in whichever way you choose), and focus on WHAT YOU WISH TO MANIFEST.

In Aquarius, we can touch our future selves, and 'download' this information into the present. Where do you want to be next week, next month, next year? Ask for it now. Make your future present.

This New Moon:

Connect with friends
Find a group in line with your goals
Decide what you want to achieve in society
Focus on a new hope or dream
Get moving - life as well as our body needs circulation
Breathe more - oxygen is our life force
Be futuristic
Go your own way and give others space too
Dare to be different
Realize greatest leaps in life come when we go against the grain
Shift your status quo
Electrify your existence with a brave, bold move ahead
Keep a clear mind - aligned solely with your goals
Enjoy the company of Free Spirits
Unleash your uniqueness

As it's the Age of Aquarius - this New Moon is a weekend of celebrating our uniqueness. Look for people with zany hair, crazy clothes - it's INNOVATION TIME, when we get to be truly ourselves. No one else can be you, even if they studied you for a lifetime. Only you get to play your own role this lifetime. Get with the program - Your program.

Making wishes at the New Moon is always guaranteed to shift energy in the direction of your desires with a view to manifesting something in line with them. Try it. This weekend, outline your future vision, and bring it int the present. It's as simple as that. Our goals define us, our hopes guide us and our dreams are our future selves finding us in the present.

Align all three here, this weekend. Free yourself from whatever is currently going on. It's already old news. Whatever is manifest in the physical world, is old. Don't forget to keep creating your future here right now by focusing on your future.

Download a new dream, a new direction and a new desire. All it takes is the energy of attention.

It'll never fly,
if you don't try.

Dare to be different and dare to dream!

Love,
Neil

Mercury is Retrograde (until March 7)

It's finally here - the mental time out we've all been in need of. So drop your major urge to race ahead in life, slow down your driving, and stop talking.

It's time to listen.

Life catches up with us now, and our words find us again, the echoes of the past return and we get to take stock of where we've been and where we are. And thus, where we're going. Without a plan we're destined to repeat the past (as we're always reacting to what has been, instead of creating where we'd like to go).

How will the past return for you? Old ideas, mental loops, friends or lovers from the past, reconnecting with friends, salvaging broken contracts or connections, revisiting old places, or finally severing ties with people who you are no longer resonating with? The possibilities can only truly be glimpsed through our own Birth Charts.

If you're stuck or unsure what's repeating or why you're where you are, it's a great time for a mental review. Read your diary, go back over your past, retrace your steps. Forget surging ahead, this period is about working out how you got here. Unpick the problems, unstitch the rug-ruts you've been weaving.

I'll add more as we progress through this period, but for now, you can check out the Relationship Reports and specials (ending Feb 31) on offer at the site - it is valentine's day today after all. And that goes for BUSINESS and well as ROMANTIC relationships.

Even if you're single, you're in a relationship right now. Look around. Mercury retrograde can help you navigate to calmer waters once you let go of the old shore and decide upon the new horizon you're setting sail for.

How will we get there? That's unimportant. Right now, the desire to is enough.

Enjoy reviewing your past - whether you find it in boxes under the bed, in old books, in reconnecting with your childhood, and finding new ways to see old problems, or whether the past finds you in the next three weeks with a letter in the mail or knock on the door or bumping into someone in the street - enjoy it, and ask yourself if you want it to have a place in your present.

The choice will determine the new pathways that open up for you.

Love,
Neil

Mercury Retrograde: Feb 14 - March 7

Coming soon!

In the meantime, get a headsup on what this phase is all about by visiting the Blog and using the Search function to read some of my earlier 'Mercury Retrograde' postings. This one of course is different as it falls in the sign of Pisces, and we're all affected differently, but you'll have an idea of what's going to happen during the period from Feb 14 - March 7.

Stay tuned!

This Moment...

Where are you at right now in your Life Cycle?

At "PMS" time - when everyone and everything seems to kick you between the legs, annoy you and make you wanna break something?

At "Celebration" time - when you're amazed things could work out so well, and you're feeling truly blessed.

At "Anticipation" time - when you have nothing yet everything. A magical moment of potential when the world's your oyster. (You quit your job, move with no security, or else throw yourself off the deep end).

At "Closure" time - when something ends and you're trying to decide where to go or what to do next?

There are so many points along each cycle. That's the beauty of our Astrology Charts. We set sail on a course determined by us prior to birth (the theory goes) and then we cast ourselves in our own drama and see if we can figure our way through it all. It's not our actions that truly matter in the end often, but our RE-actions - how we handle the events that life seems to bring our way. That's how we end up changing your own personal history - by redefining ourselves with each response.

That's where my current book comes in. I'm putting together a special manual of sorts to explain where you're at in your current cycle. Anyone will be able to use it as it does all the hard work for you. You'll need no knowledge of Astrology and gain a vast amount of wisdom by the end (hopefully!).

That's also where you come in: my clients, friends, family and strangers i talk to about their charts are all the teachers on my Path. I learn the more I see and experience (which is true wisdom in the end, isn't it) and I'd love to have your input in some of this too.

Just let me know WHAT is going on in your life or how you feel about certain things. Be as detailed or as bullet-point as you like. "Lost my job","Got married", "Ready to run away", "Excited about my new possibilities" etc. Your call. It'll all help me to put together a manual that is steeped in experience and reality as it is in Astrological Theory. We're all the melting pots where all of this wisdom comes together.

You can find the survey (its confidential and easy) at this page of my site, (on the right scroll down to the menu and you'll find it, along with a Sex Survey if you're so inclined).

Thanks a million billion for sharing your own life experiences - maybe they'll help someone else out on their path too. Being part of something bigger than yourself - you can't beat it.

Much Love,
Neil

The "Void of Course" Moon

Astrologers each use various devices and tricks and tools to interpret the planetary movements. I'm amazed that many don't use the Lunar Nodes - when from my experience they hold SO much information. Others may find it surprising I don't stare ominously at what they call the Void of Course Moon.

The Nodes comprise such a bulk of my work that without them, you really don't have a handle on the Chart of a person (or anything). it's just cycles, blurring into cycles, and energies that come at you from all angles. With no central theme. However the Void of Course is a lesser but much used tool of timing.

The Moon moves rapidly through the signs - 2 and a half signs a day so complete its monthly sojourn. Our emotions follow suit - changing along with the lunar cycle colors. In Leo today we're all feeling the Leo energy but in various ways depending on where the Moon falls within our Charts of course.

In my 9th House, I actually ended up contacting a fellow Astrologer to compliment him on his marvellous book, and we exchanged emails (the 9th house relates to publishing, books, knowledge, teachers). The book is called Sunshines: The Astrology of Being Happy' by Michael Lutin. It actually comprises of a look at both the Sun and the Lunar Nodes together. A much needed addition to the Astrological body of work out there.

The Full Moon will arrive in my 9th house - and I'm expecting to wrap up a lot of work on my own book. I may hear news from overseas, the other 9th House theme. I've been looking into taking a trip out of town to Vegas. The 9th = long distance trips. The themes are endless but they all relate to how I'm using Leo energy in a 9th house fashion.

Back to my original point - I never much cared for the "voice of course" moon. It's a term given to a period of time when the Moon's energy is 'out to lunch' and anything we begin during these times is likely to not amount to much. White Noise. Dead air. A void. Emotionally it's not exactly a fulfilling time for something we want to launch. It is claimed, however, that it's great for napping, staying home or at leats kicking back a bit, self-nurturing and just waiting things out.

I guess with my Aries South Lunar Node I'm not a fan of waiting around for things, so I tend to disregard these timing devices sometimes, because I reckon 'if it's meant to work it will'. (Not that I'm always on time, so perhaps I need to listen to myself more...)

So this is where you come in as your own Astrologer. I'm posting the dates here for you to check it out for yourself. Drop me a note and let me know your findings. It's not a major thing we need to stick to, but it's worthwhile if we want to avoid what is claimed "emotional ARGHS" of this period if we don't.

That's some Astrological Lore for you. If you're thinking of moving home, signing on a real estate deal, contacting your Mother, or planning conception, these are times it's best to work around and plan for. The Moon relates to all these things. In surgery, Astrologers have worked with doctors to avoid operations when the Moon is moving through the sign related to the part of the body in question (Aries - head down to pisces - feet...we can talk more on that another time). Question? Just email me at Neil@NewWorldAstrology.com.

SO when the Moon is in Cancer, stomach and breast/chest operations are forbidden. It often ends in complications. I'd say this would work doubly so then, under a Void of Course Moon. Maybe it just doesn't solve the original problem.

I haven't tested this as the Moon is such an unstable, emotional energy. It talks about the small niggling things in our day to day lives.

I prefer to focus more on Mercury Retrograde and other energies that seem to throw the world into chaos. That's my dramatic 5th House South Node (the Leo house!). I'm a sucker for excitement.

And what do you know? Mercury goes retrograde on Feb 14, just in time for Valentine's Day! Expect to hear from a past lover (and me), for sure. Good or bad? Depends how naughty or nice you were, doesn't it...

Enjoy playing around with the Void of course Moon times...

Love,
Neil

Feb 1: Souls at Centre Stage: Leo Full Moon

The Full Moon on Feb 1 (late evening PST) falls at 12Leo59 (one minute before entering the 13th degree).

Most Astrologers will probably use the Sabian Symbol for 13 Degrees Leo (since we always round up) but I think since we are so close to the 14th Sabian Degree that in this instance we're urged to move up and evolve to the next level. This symbol is:

"In the form of a cherub,
whispering soft coaxing in words into every receptive ear,
a human soul seeks expression."

I think that sums up this Lunar cycle. Full Moons are always about a highlighting of something. "Under the Light of the Full Moon" we see what's full - what's grown, expanded and is now visible, manifested from the seeds we scattered at the previous Leo New Moon.

What does this symbol mean? To me, it's the sound of intuition whispering in our ears, of the path we KNOW we should take. Will we? Often we go against our own advice (and wonder why no one else is really helping us out).

In Leo, emotions are always pretty obvious. They're either out there in the open, or else we're polluting rooms by withdrawing our Light (Leo rules the Sun) and we're known for the dark clouds we bring in our wake. Either way, our Light is felt by its very presence or it's lack.
Again we're reminded now that "darkness" is just a lack of light. And that there never is truly ever complete darkness in the world, as the Sun is always shining somewhere.

Maybe that's what we should bear in mind at the Leo Full Moon when we're bursting at the seems with Leo vitality that screams to be heard. If we don't receive the applause and respect our Leo side needs (we all have Leo in us somewhere, in our Charts) then we risk sulking, withdrawing and sitting on it, becoming the cold, calculated Aquarius (Leo's opposite sign).

At the Full Moon we always face a conflict to resolve - on the one hand the Sun shines in Aquarius saying BE AQUARIAN. Detach. Support a good cause. Help Society. Be a great friend.
The Moon shines in the opposite sign of Leo saying I NEED RECOGNITION. Can you be a creative and lovable politician? Can you use your stage presence star-status for the greater good? Are you just as good off stage in the supportive audience as you are lapping up the attention from your adoring fans? If you're ignored, what then? If someone heckles you, do you despise humanity? Is your audience limited and are you seeking the wrong people for the recognition you feel you deserve and desire?

We're ALL prima-donnas. We each want a bit of the Leo Sun. Watch American Idol to see how big 'anyone can be a star' ideologies have become. However, as the Moon also opposes Chiron (known as the wounded healer) we do run the risk of a few of our Aquarian "issues" to be triggered. People annoy us. We're told to love the world yet we see our ugliness in the prejudice we witness, in the people who don't give a rat's ass about any else. We see it in our politicians who are clearly NOT "for" the people. Aquarius is the Humanitarian but with Chiron here now, we tend to detest people but love humanity. Who was it who said "the problem with humanity is people"?

We can pretend to be spiritually evolved, but we'll always (this two week period anyway) get to see our wounds, our shadows, our emotional triggers (insecurities and fears) highlighted by others (opposition aspects always relate to relationship issues since we tend to project the problem onto someone else and fight it through them).

So with the Moon opposing Chiron, OTHER people are the ones who are too Leo or too Aquarius. Too show-offy or too cold-and-clinical. No, it can't be us. Our unmet needs of attention projected onto the person we see who steals the show. And the side of us who wants to not care less, is seen through the person whom clearly doesn't have a human heart....

Is this blog getting a little heavy? I agree. So let's move on to the juice:

No matter what, no matter where, no matter how we MUST release our Leo sides now - it's a NEED, a primal urge asking us to:

Get on Stage and Scream our Emotions
Let it rip! Dance your socks off, dress up, show off
Bring color back into your life!
Get artistic - paint a wall, a mural, make a birdhouse, stare at your reflection
Go to Vegas - live it up, go 5 Star to the best restaurant
Give up your childish ways but still remain childlike
Be generous NO MATTER who accepts it or who you think "doesn't deserve it"
Be proud of what you've done. You'll shine for it.
Stop seeking an audience. Be your own number one fan.
Finish up a painting, song, poem or some creative project you've been working on
Release your babies into the world (sell your work, find an agent, put on your show)

In Short - give your gift of your Leo side to the world. Your job. Your humor. Your ability to have a good time. Your smile. Your wink. Your flattery. Your musical/artistic/leadership talents. You're brimming full, under the Full Moon and trust me, there are few things worse than a Leo who has (temporarily) lost (or forgotten more like) their Light. That's Leo's job. To shine. That's it.

And the final point is this: to shine, to truly be a beacon and a Sun, sometimes our only job is to be ourselves, and not to try. Isn't one of the sun's main job to brighten dark skies?

So whatever shadows appear now, dispel them by turning up your own Pride, your own Self Respect, your own Self Love. Saturn in Leo right now is testing us all - to remain Loving no matter what, to remain Giving no matter what, to retain our Life Force - and not to get depleted or drained by life's vampiric nature.

Give back.
Empty your creative genius.
It's the only way to keep refilling.

Love,
Neil
