Angelina Jolie's Double-Mastectomy & Pluto Transit

Angelina Jolie just had a double mastectomy (both breasts removed) after discovering she has a faulty gene that gives her an 86% chance of breast cancer.

Angelina has Venus conjunct her Cancer Ascendant. Our rising sign and placements are reflected in our appearance and physical body, along with the 1st House. Her alignment suggests beauty, femininity, attractiveness, softness, a motherly appearance [did you know Cancer relates to the breasts/chest/stomach in medical astrology?]. Her large lips and breasts have been discussed on gossip sites for years. Venus rising in Cancer indeed.

Her current transits are significant. Pluto is the planet relating to the removal of something, usually forced upon us without option (because we humans find it hard to 'let go'). Pluto is present when we carve something out of the body, deal with toxins, cysts, growths, tumors and some of the heavy-hitting health topics such as HIV/AIDS & Cancer.

As you can see, Pluto is transiting Angelina's 6th House of Health and squaring (challenging) the ruler of 6th House (Jupiter) and square her Moon (connected to the breasts in medical astrology)  which also rules her 1st House of Physical Appearance and Bodily Health.

In these cases, Angelina tapped into her Pluto Initiation in her 6th Cycle (for more info on your Personal Cycles, see my book Surfing Your Solar Cycles) by deciding to completely remove both breasts. That's the key Plutonian signature: All or Nothing.
And since Pluto represents Cancer with a transit through her House of Health hitting all these key  personal planets, connected to her bodily condition and physical health (the 1st and 6th) the decision seems a very sensible one.

P.S Did you also spot transiting Chiron? The energy of wounds/healing squaring Angelina's Sun (the self) in Gemini (the Twins, doubles, pairs) at the end of the 8th house of endings/transformation/letting go/surgery.

Celebrity Karma: Lana Del Rey

View Lana's Chart here

Singer Lana Del Rey is a 29 Degree Gemini (the sabian symbol for which is "Bathing Beauties") born close to a Sagittarius Full Moon (creating an opposition between her Sun/Moon) reflecting a deep divide in her Nature, a 'split' revealing itself in a perpetual restlessness and an eternally seeking/questing/moving (Gemini/Sag) pull between asking questions (Gemini) and the unpredictable running off (Uranus conjunct Sag Moon) in search of answers, or just the rush, relief and release of Freedom. And a need to pass on what she knows.

I've always been intrigued by the 'karmic signature' in our chart and how it plays out again in our current lifetime, so here we'll explore Lana's life through its past-life patterns.

Lana's song's are heavily laced with the theme of karmic relationships (it's you, it's you it's all for you)  and love lost ("then they took you away, stole you out of my life"), which is so beautifully reflected in her chart's karmic back-story. Often we have no other outlet for voicing the unacknowledged parts of our psyche, than through symbols, through our artwork -

a 12th house way of dealing with
 (through fantasy, imagery, poetry, music)
12th house issues
(repressions, forgotten or buried memories,
trapped energies, unresolved issues)

Her 12th House cusp (Cancer) represents old emotional wounds unresolved from prior lives. Its ruler (the Moon) is located in the 5th House of Love Affairs and Playful Games, in the sign of Sagittarius (freedom, adventure) conjunct Uranus (sudden splits, rebels). Just a glance at her videos and we spot one actor who tightly resembles someone from her past (in an interview she even said he reminded her of a special love in her life...). Lana's karmic signature seems to suggest a history of relationships that were either formed or lost on the road (Sag), that taught her a lot and opened up her experience of the world and was just plain fun (Sag/Uranus/5th) and that would end up forming the basis of her creative works (ruler of 12th in 5th). The Moon is also square Jupiter in the 8th in Pisces, a sign of her former loves inspired her to indulge heavily in reaching other states (Jupiter is overindulgence, the 8th is intense experiences like sex and Pisces notoriously connected with drugs/alcohol/escapism ("make me laugh let's go get high"). On the flip side this could have suggested an exploration of soul-bonding (Pisces), especially through difficult and intense times and transitions (8th).

Artists inevitably end up expressing unresolved parts of their Charts through their work, in this case Lana's choice of lyrics. her south node in Libra reflects a past life pattern of losing her personal identity in others: "Can you make it feel  like Home if I tell you you're Mine..."...."This is what makes us girls...we all look for heaven and we put our love first") putting relationship (Libra) before all else for the Other in our life ("Heaven is a place on earth where you, tell me all the things you want to do").

Even Saturn the Lord of karma is tightly conjunct Juno the asteroid of marriage revealing that part of her karmic this time around is to team up with those who are equally as invested in the union, not those who suddenly up and leave,  as it was in the past that left unresolved yearning and longing for security (Cancer on cusp of 12th house). The ruler of her karmic south node is Venus, found in the unresolved karmic 12th house, representing some issue still dragging over from the past: unrequited love? It is a Leo Venus, representing the grand love, the type you'd give everything for, that stirs up echoes of damsels in distress and passionate exchanges (let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain, you like your girls insane - rain/insane being two aspects of the Pisces-related 12th house.

"There has always been the melancholy in me called desire...
this feeling has been with me for a lifetime.
But I do not suffer.
I'd rather say I've learned to get used to my sadness"

The 12th house is also connected to places of rehabilitation, seclusion or imprisonment, where we're left to face and deal with our inner demons. Few know Lana "worked in a center for the homeless  and rehabilitation center for alcoholics and drug addicts since I was 18". And in February, she announced she was working on a "second spiritual album".

Squaring Pluto (the planet of core wounds, deep transformation and death: Lana said she thought death would be a paradise in a recent interview), her Venus truly is attracted to the dark side and relationships that will inevitably transform her idea and concept of love. Pain is all part of the package ("i know that love is mean and love hurts." Love lives on after death, she has no doubt about that: she's the living example of that ("I will love you til the end of time"..I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side"...But there also is that unrequited love again. Memories of former loves and the one that got away, serving as an inspiration to her work. With heavy-hitting Pluto in the deepest most personal part of her Chart (the 4th house of emotional foundations, home and family), there may have been karmic attractions within the family, secret or illicit love. Or family abuse of some kind ("Daddy" references are littered throughout her songs).  Deep, dark emotions are natural with such a dark planet dwelling in her foundational 4th and most of it will no doubt be kept secret. Lana's deepest private pains will likely remain private until she decides to do some soul-archaeology via that 4th House Pluto.

Uranus, the unpredictable ruler of her 7th House of Relationship (found in erratic and rebellious Aquarius) is also tied up to the Moon (ruler of 12th) in her 5th house of Love Affairs, revealing her attraction to the outsider, the free-spirit and the rebel ("you were ahead of the trend get get it") is still alive and well in this lifetime.

Her North Node (karmic soul direction) in Aries suggests Lana will spend more periods of her lifetime on her own this time around, figuring out what her drives are as a unique individual, as a balance to pursuing relationship at the expense of her own personal development. When she is in a relationship, she'll be tested on whether it's fair - ie, whether she is putting more effort and energy in compared to her significant other (Saturn/Juno) and whether she is still pursuing her own interests outside the needs/demands of the partnership itself. Her Aries North Node is located in her 9th house of the Higher Mind, Belief Systems & Personal Philosophy (her south node in the 3rd reflected in her lyrics 'scared that I couldn't find all the answers, honey')The ruler of her north node is Mars and is found in her 6th house of Work/Health and in Capricorn (the business executive or manager) we see she has potential to channel her own ambitious drive and workaholic tendencies (and perfectionist ideals) into practical projects. In other words, this lifetime, Lana's mission is to channel all her love-angst and adventurous spirit into a committed focus on her work and health.

Coming from prior lives where love was exciting, full of adrenalin and dangerous, is addictive and our soul's continue to remember. So through her lyrics, we see the haunting love that remains from the shadows and debris of her past, now communicated (Gemini/Sagittarius) into her work as a form of personal identity reinforcement (North Node in Aries) as she carves her own path this time around.

It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby, now you do

(from Video Games)

"don't make me sad, don't make me cry
sometimes, love is not enough, and the road gets tough
I don't know why..."
(from Born to Die)
(Libra South Node, Venus in Leo in 12th square Pluto in Scorpio in 4th,
North Node in Aries in 9th)

Embracing the Dark Side: Scorpio Lunar Eclipse (April 25)

We all get antsy around Eclipses. Things become unsettled. We feel it in our core. Without realizing it, we all hunger for CHANGE about this time, but we may not be sure what that change is or how it should 'look'. One simple way to investigate its effects for you personally: The house our Scorpio Eclipse falls in (5 degrees Scorpio) is the area of our life Marked for a Major Metamorphosis.

The truth is, we need change or we'd die. Skin cells rejuvenate. We need to let go of the in breathe in order to take in more air.

But as creatures of habit (Taurus),
we sometimes need to be forced to change (Scorpio).

Lunar Eclipses are great times to SHED. A time to shake loose any Emotional Cling-Ons (anxieties, fears, habits, patterns, wounds, grievances, resentments). Often we find life shakes everything up for us, so that we have no choice but to move through the changes being offered up to us on our individual life paths. Change doesn't necessarily have to be difficult.

This Scorpio Lunar Eclipse intensifies everything (especially our feelings) for one important reason: the stronger we feel something, the more likely we are to make a necessary change. In the weeks and months ahead you'll get to see just how strongly you feel about something and what you are willing to do (or have to do) to change/evolve.

The shadow-side of a Scorpio Lunar eclipse is just that:
Emotional Reactions.

As soon as we step into the arena of trying to control things or people or our own feelings, the more problems we create for ourselves. Projecting blame on others. Pointing the finger. Unleashing our inner rage at having no control or power. Sometimes people snap, under a Lunar Eclipse. Emotions reach a breaking point. This, then, becomes the Release Point. Many of us make major changes too quickly, as the celestial energy seems to inspire us to "Make a Change Now!" But that usually isn't the best course to take. Around Eclipse times I advise people to slow down and not to overreact. Old core wounds can be triggered. People decide to break up suddenly or walk out of a job. But that's just a symptom of feeling the need to "make any change at any cost" rather than Stay And Face The Root Cause of Any Emotional Darkness you may be feeling.

Cycle 8 in my book Surfing Your Solar Cycles will give you more information on the themes we'll be working through for the  next 3-6 months. And you can combine it with with Cycle the Lunar Eclipse falls in for you.

Darker emotions sabotage everything we have built to date (the Builder Taurus Sun opposing the Destroyer Scorpio Full Moon Lunar Eclipse). Deep down inside of every human lies the seeds of Darkness, and our inner demons love nothing more than to come out and create havoc just when we think we've gotten a handle on our human lives. This Eclipse is a time when meany-energies are out in force seeking to rob us of our Magic Dust and our connection to the Light.

Eclipses, remember, block the Light from us in a variety of ways (Lunar Eclipses see the reflected light of the Moon, blocked by the shadow of the Earth...Solar Eclipses see the Sun's light blocked by the Moon herself). At eclipse time, hold strong to your Light, knowing you'll be challenged in some form. Keeping a candle burning is a great idea, as  a symbolic act of navigating through this moment of darkness.

But the great thing about the light going out,
is that you see that much clearer
when it comes back on.

Sometimes we need these trigger points. And that's when the Eclipses arrive, like clockwork. And it's why our ancestors worked very hard at mapping out when the Eclipses fell.

The bright-side of a Scorpio Lunar Eclipse is that it helps cleanse you of that which you no longer need, that which ultimately is NOT you, thus revealing your true power again to yourself (a power you'd not see if it continued to be blocked and clouded by your emotional reactions and attachments to things or people (or feelings) that have given you a false sense of self or sense of security.

And Security is what it's all about right now, or so it seems. The Taurus-Scorpio axis, highlighted by the Lunar Eclipse, brings a bubbling-up of anxieties over money (especially in relationships), sex drives and desires/needs (again, within relationships we may find someone wants more, someone needs less, etc). Oppositions play out in our relationships with other people (even the cashier at the supermarket). Other themes triggered by this eclipse: what's YOURS versus what's MINE (can we share or should we keep it divided?), alimony (who gets what) and taxes (investigations, audits) inheritances and estates (who's in control?), credit cards and debt (who owes what to whom?), deaths or endings, what should stay what should go, creating or destroying.

Taurus-Scorpio energies may be different poles on the  Security Axis but they are still an illusion, a representation of energy replacing a full spiritual connection to our Source within. Once we attain something (Taurus), we move into fear of losing it (Scorpio)! When we let go of something (Scorpio), we feel the void where something tangible (Taurus) used to be and thus go on the hunt for a substitute. The best place to live during an eclipse is BETWEEN THE TWO SIGNS INFLUENCED. Enjoy what you have (Taurus) while you have it and honor what is leaving (Scorpio) trusting that the time is right. Remember, one day, we too shall depart from this place. These Eclipses are practices runs from the ultimate release.

When something or someone leaves and you continue on,
you prove to yourself time and time again that
Death is But an Illusion,
and it's certainly not the end.

Unleash your destructive side this Eclipse but in healthy ways!  Channel your passion into something constructive (a house clean-up, a work project etc).  Throw something away. Especially that which is broken beyond repair. Give something away. Others could find your trash is their treasure.

You'll feel intense at times. The global picture will certainly seem intense (Pluto, which rules this Scorpio Lunar Eclipse is squaring Uranus, the planet ruling sudden zaps of lightening and awakening). People continue to feel the pulled between maintaining the status quo and wanting change. Finding it impossible to maintain their status quo and change thrust upon them. We are all experiencing these paradigms in various degrees.

Your tiny dilemma likely mirrors a major problem
you're seeing on the nightly news!

How you handle your own Darkness, affects the amount of darkness on Planet Earth. You play a huge role, in how you navigate what life is presenting to you. The sudden changes we'll see are not sudden at all but the final result of a bubbling, boiling, energy that has been building for some time. Lunar Eclipses reveal what's been going on beneath the surface and from behind the scenes.  It's what you do with the knowledge that counts, not getting emotionally caught up (Scorpio) in the manifestations (Taurus).

Dormant Emotional Volcanoes are now set to blow. Weather may actually change dramatically too, I've seen it countless times now. Eclipse time sets the stage for a ripple effect on Planet Earth. Quakes, volcanic activity, widespread emotional release, the rising and purging of Fear. Don't worry, it's common, and nothing to worry about. Even the Planet Earth has its own growth cycles, just as we do!

What can you do? Keep a check on your Dark Side. When you feel ready to unleash, can you hold strong, dig your heels in (Taurus) and refuse to pollute your corner of the cosmos with further, pain, anguish, torture and fear (Scorpio)?

Can you rise above?

Anger may rise, but within us lives a Phoenix who can rise higher.  Similarly, we evolve higher now not by resisting our Dark Sides, but by Embracing them.

The Highest level of the Scorpio sign: the Eagle who, when faced with a storm, flies above the rainclouds.  Seek a Higher Perspective.

Reactions and Relationships: The Libra Full Moon (March 27)

Aries is about the Self, Libra (it's opposing sign) is about the Other.

Therefore the Full Moon in Libra (March 27) is about the individual versus the relationship. Full Moons spread out energy and create synergy or teamwork (or opposition!) between two signs, at a time each month when we really need it. Balance is key (another Libra theme) so this could be one of the most important Full Moons this year.

Right now we have a truckload of energy in Aries (see the Full Moon Solar Chart above) which could make us all a lot more selfish, self-driven, interested in fulfilling our own needs only. The Libra Full Moon spotlights the relationships in our lives to help spread  out some of this self-centered energy.

The United States Supreme Court (a Libra institution - just look at the symbol for Libra - the Scales of Justice) is, right now, looking at the Gay Marriage issue (Libra relates to all partnerships) which won't go away. The theme is the right to marry (Libra). Those opposing this could be seen by this Full Moon's opposite to Venus the planet ruling Libra itself, in Aries the sign of its Fall (the sign opposite to where it belongs).

We all feel out of sorts these days and relationships continue to throw up all sorts of obstacles. But the analysis of the Full Moon Chart is simple: it's all about Love. when people are the most unlovable, is the time when they need love the most.  We often know what real love is in the face of its denial or lack.
We're either moving with the flow of Love now or we are building barriers and denying its presence in our life.
Are you keeping love out or allowing it into your heart?

The truth is, Love is always present. We are Love. We're just moving through situations that reflect our own lack of self-love back to us. Learning how to love better. Everything playing out in the larger world now is merely a shadow of what is going on within our own minds. Even if you're in the most difficult of situations can you love yourself more and become a more loving and lovable person?

This Full Moon:

Full Moon opposing Sun: Get your ego out of the way or risk having your own reflected back to you via other people who are pushy, domineering, aggressive and me-me-me oriented. Avoid extreme emotional reactions and DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY. Put your personal stamp on your home environment - put up new artwork (your own would be ideal). Brighten up your space - open curtains, windows - let the light in!

Full Moon opposing Venus: We all need relationship to grow. Call up someone and get their opinion. Offer to be a sounding board (or shoulder to cry on) for someone else. Stop pushing love away or sabotaging your partnerships due to a lack of self-worth. Avoid impulsive spending to lift low spirits. Love yourself enough to allow others their emotional reactions without being pulled in. Beauty your home to ground this energy.

Full Moon opposing Mars:  Angry reactions don't help matters. Yet repress your anger and irritability and it may just 'come at you' via others. Get physical to burn off excess emotional energy.  Realize that pushing against anything will be reflected back to you by even greater resistance and pushing.

Full Moon opposing Uranus: Sometimes you just need a little space to breathe and see things from a new perspective. Otherwise you wind up taking your momentary feelings and thinking they are everything. Feelings always blow over. Change your routine! Sometimes that's all that's needed to give your life a breath of fresh air. If not, Change finds you via the back door and upsets all your comfort zones. Embrace the unknown - it teaches you more about yourself. re-arrange furniture at home, create a new home environment!

Full Moon square Pluto: You have to purge icky feelings. How? by realizing any reaction is an attachment and you came to the physical world to learn to release attachments! Why? Because ultimately you'll lose everything and everyone. That's a wake-up call, right? Experience a series of Emotional Deaths now, and you'll be better off. What is left behind when all reactions have cooled, is the real stuff. The rest was just an unhealthy hook keeping you chained to something you felt you needed but didn't. Great time to ditch bad habits. It's time to destroy any old modes of selfishness (Aries) and looking to anyone else for a sense of that self (Libra).Throw our garbage at home and anything you no longer need, wear, value. Fix broken stuff or chuck it out! Intense feelings now usually stem from past issues, old deep wounds and past-life stuff you're still dragging around. Realize the Present is just the trigger and most likely, the issue is not 'out there' but something deep within that needs your love, acceptance and ultimately, releasing.

Full Moon trine Juno (asteroid of marriage and equality): The lighthouse amidst the storm. A Libra Full Moon supported by Juno reinforces the theme that Love, Marriage, Agreement, Compromise, Cooperation are all given the green light. Just because conflict exists doesn't mean things are wrong. We learn through OPPOSITION (the ultimate theme of a Full Moon) and we learn about ourselves (Aries) through what we face in the reflection  of the Other (Libra).

We need the others in our lives so avoid isolation. Ask for help. Be there for others. Hash it out. Enter the ring, then take a break when the bell rings. Draw boundaries but feel free to erase or change them. Know that ultimately, how you feel about something does not reflect the truth of the situation.

Emotions are fickle things, but Love is eternal.

Scorpio/Pluto and Saturn Returns: Tests of Time

My partner's Mom had a sudden and major stroke a week ago today and I've been here at the hospital daily and thought I'd take a moment to check in with you all.  My Reading Schedule is on hold but will no doubt be  back on track soon, as she is showing signs of recovery.

Diane has 4 planets in Scorpio and is going through an EXACT (and second) Saturn Return in Scorpio. Her stroke happened on the same day, in fact, that Saturn turned retrograde, right over her Natal Saturn, degrees away also from her Sun. Saturn of course relates to restrictions and rules/regulations. Scorpio is a tough sign - its transformations are deep, intense and the circumstances that arrange themselves to move through this sort of evolution are tough and arduous. To watch her tied  to the bed (Saturn limitation, Scorpio loss of control), unable to move her left side and choking on a breathing tube is a reminder to me of many things - the fragility of the human body, the sheer strength of the human body, the resilience of the spirit and the outstanding courage and strength of Scorpio.

Scorpio and Pluto are two energies you don't want to (or rather can't) mess with. Locked away in these two energies, are often lifetimes of pain and lifetimes of survival. Certainly there is understanding of life's extremes. Pain creates an inner fire, and those around us who seem fired up are no doubt the same ones that have lived through emotional turmoil of varying levels. There's a strength to Scorpio/Pluto that arises just as all seems lost. I see it time and time again.

With 6 planetary bodies in Pisces currently, we all are finding we're choosing or being forced to Submit and Surrender. Something Scorpio/Pluto just doesn't jive with (unless it's under their control). Sometimes we don't want control. Sometimes we don't have any. Pisces as the last sign dissolves everything but our connection to our core, our Soul, or Center and our Source. But the way there can involve the loss of many things. Sometimes our apparent safety. Sometimes our sense of security.

Saturn Return's are notorious times of hardship. Soul-testing. We go through it ages 28-30 and then again somewhere between 58-60. If you're around those ages, you too were born with Saturn in Scorpio. If you were, you'll be going through your own initiation, but don't worry. You have the credentials to pass every test with flying colors. You just have to put in the time and work and learn what needs to be learnt.

Throw in the sign of Scorpio and you know it's going to be Intense (Scorpio). And it's going to take Time (Saturn). Diane, unable to talk yet, is scribbling away on pieces of paper with her good hand. She has stories of 'the other side' it seems, seeing those who have already passed over. How's that for another Scorpio theme - life after death!

Here's to all who read this who have gone through, are going through or who find themselves at the doorstep to Major Unavoidable Changes. We like to believe that life is interrupted by events such as these, that something has gone 'wrong', that we are somehow to blame, but if you dig a little deeper (another Scorpio theme) you'll find that THIS IS LIFE - every moment that makes up our story. Scorpio/Pluto moments (and our Saturn Return) pull us back to THIS moment, to what really matters when we strip away (or are forced to give up or lose or say goodbye to) various parts of our life that have become 'home'.

Which reminds me of another strong soul I know - my publisher and Virgo Moon editor at the Wessex Astrologer, Margaret Cahill (born with the Moon conjunct Pluto in Virgo) who was diagnosed with Cancer just after the publication of my book at the end of 2012. Another soul tapped into Pluto who is on her own journey into the Scorpio/Pluto Underworld. You can follow her story by clicking here aptly titled "Undercover of Darkness". And finally, my father-in-law Jess is also battling Cancer. He's born with Pluto conjunct his Leo Sun.  I know these three souls have the strength to get through this, and to come out the other end of the tunnel, with even greater strength, purpose, passion, will and soul surrender, something earned only after ordeals of the "Pluto" kind. How else would we grow so much unless we're nudged a little (or a lot) sometimes? And the greatest Shadows, must come from the Greatest Lights. I'm sure you know some in your own life.

I believe in each of you.

I'm appreciating a lot more these days, thanks to these brave spiritual warriors. And for the rest of us:

Nothing lasts forever, so are we enjoying it all
as much as we could be,
while we still have it?

You're tougher than you look,

PREDICTION RECAP: Pluto in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries

I thought it was a good time, as we enter the Chinese New Year (of the Water Snake) to recap on the Predictions I made for the period of Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries (which is happening right now and repeatedly until 2015).

You can find my full predictions in the link above. Here are some as a recap, taken from predictions made five years ago  (in January 2008):

" A DISPLAY OF FORCE
More military presence, more uniforms and more bullying tactics out of a fear of loss of control.

Only just this week, we heard that:

Amazon used 'neo-Nazi' guards to control workers in German factory scandal. In the article:

The firm that supplied the security guards to Amazon is known as HESS Security. The film showed guards dressed in hooded black uniforms of the Thor Steinar clothing brand. The brand became prohibited apparel for both the Bundesliga football association and the federal parliament due to its neo-Nazi associations. The documentary adds that Amazon stopped selling Thor Steinar brand clothes in 2009, and suggests that the name HESS is connected to Rudolf Hess, Adolf Hitler’s deputy and a neo-Nazi icon. Officially, HESS stands for Hensel European Security Services.

PARENTS:
The history of child abuse within families and governmental and other bodies of power may surface showing a web of intrigue that spans the globe and has been kept secret for quite some time. Abusive families are brought to task.
BOSSES:

People who own their own company, are bosses or in positions of power and control -
will face tests of power - if they abuse their position they will be stripped of their title, or fall from grace. Pluto takes without mercy. People will lose their reputation, respect in the eyes of the world, their social standing, and everything they have spent time building to date if they abuse their position and responsibility and trust, entrusted to them.

England was shocked to discover that child entertainer Jimmy Saville had been sexually abusing children for 50 years throughout his television career.

This week, an ex-teacher was arrested over sexual abuse claims stemming back to the 1980s.

Police are following more claims of sexual abuse by another teacher, in Manchester, England.

India's child sex abuse is hidden, says Human Rights Watch.

An alarming new trend in online child sex abuse, is reported.

A new computer virus accuses victims of viewing child porn.

An Oxford Child Sex Ring is busted.

Victims welcome Australian child sex abuse investigations.

Even Religion is brought into the spotlight as Catholics urge the Cardinal tied to sex abuse to skip the papal vote and that if he remains in the Vatican (which he says he will) Pope Benedict (who just stepped down) he will be immune from any child sex abuse prosecution.

The man who treated 30,000 rape victims.

Each day we are hearing news of those 'at the top' who are suddenly 'at the bottom'.

WORK WORLD:

The biggest mergers we have seen to date - and the biggest crashes and bankruptcies we've ever heard of. Bank closures, foreclosures and a LOT of talk on debt - as countless people suffer the backlash of living outside of their means.

Just look at how many banks closed in the US the past five years.

Only five days ago, American and US Airways announced an $11 billion merger

BOSSES:
People who own their own company, are bosses or in positions of power and control -
will face tests of power - if they abuse their position they will be stripped of their title, or fall from grace

Like Jesse Jackson Jr who is expected to soon plead guilty to spending more than $750,000 in campaign money. Or Shanghai Shenhua who has just been stripped of his 2003 title . Or just like Alberto Contador who also was stripped of his title after being found guilty of doping. The list goes on. Just type "corruption" in any news media search and you'll see just how much this has played out globally the past five years especially.

NEW WORLD RECORDS:
Some outstanding and astounding people "getting to the top" (either physically with mountain climbers or those who scale to great heights in the physical world or those who do so by making a comeback or rags to riches stories from people who appear from nowhere). As Capricorn is achievement, Pluto could bring some surprising and profound people to the top.

Only just last night I saw ads for a new World Record TV show.  And according to Wikepedia, just last year:

Warner Bros. announced the development of a live-action film version of Guinness World Records with Daniel Chunas scriptwriter.[29]

Pluto type people will be elected

In the United States, President Obama is reelected - with a Scorpio Midheaven (his career, public profile and world legacy) and Pluto conjunct his North Node of Destiny in Virgo ("Obamacare").
Hillary Clinton is still one to watch in the years ahead, being a Pluto-ruled herself.

In the latest Ecuador election, President  Rafael Correa wins a new term - he has his Moon conjunct Pluto also in Virgo. An guess where Mexico's new President Enrique Pena Nieto has his Moon? Also in Virgo Moon conjunct Pluto. Sweeping social reform will be the theme and the result of these people in office. Pluto is definitely finding his way through the Halls of Power across the globe, for better and worse.

And finally just today I saw news that Montreal City Hall was raided by "anti-corruption" police.

NEWS FROM MY NECK OF THE WOODS

You may have seen it on the news. Chrsistopher Dorner, an ex-cop (fired for reporting a colleague who kicked someone they arrested in the head) wrote a manifesto that threatened the entire LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) for the abuse and racism he alleged he's suffered through and witnesses in his tenure there. his wrongful dismissal caused him to shoot family members of the team and wind up hiding in a cabin down the road from me in Big Bear, California. If you've been following my work, you'll know that I have pointed out the strong likelihood of there being more 'rebels against the System' with Uranus in Aries, and especially when it squares off against Pluto in Capricorn.

One man against the System. A very obvious manifestation of his energy we all feel bubbling up inside. Perhaps Christopher had a point to make, a valid one. Perhaps some heard, but perhaps a lot was lost in his activities and decisions on how to best bring down a System  (here, the LAPD) that he found to be corrupt. Either way, racism and power-abuses within a major police dept in the US, are being talked about and no doubt we'll hear more similar stories from across the planet.

                                                                            ***
Just shows you that no one is immune (save for Pope Benedict, perhaps - and perhaps not even him) from this progressive and sweeping transformative energy purging all that is dark, exposing all that is wrongfully hidden so that we may progress ahead as a species, free from the pollution of power abuses from those we trust and rely on. Freedom comes now from The Great Purging we are all finding ourselves living through.

December 21, 2012 - What do I think?

December 21 2012 - what do I think?

Many of you have written in and asked for my interpretation on the upcoming end of the Mayan calendar (Dec 21 2012). Those close to me have heard me joking that 'maybe they got sick of writing it'. Why  on earth would we expect a calendar to be left for us that lasts forever?

So the logistics would say, the end of the calendar is purely that, the end of a calendar. Human love timetables and definitive timetables. Endings scare us. What will be next? Will it be over? Will what be over? And we're all a dramatic lot who have deep ancient memories stored in our cells from our ancestors who underwent dramatic disasters and life changing experiences. Perhaps memories from our other lives. We remember, and thus we expect to face annihilation in some form. Catastrophobia in other words. History does have a habit of repeating when we don't learn from it.

Theories are running wild on the topic of 2012. When I was 16, a book dropped off a shelf at my local library. You can hear it free here on YouTube. The second in the series can be heard here. These books (written in the 80s) rocked my 16 year old world as they talked about energies and events that I felt in my gut and witnessed manifesting in the years after my reading it. The material resonated, as far out as it may have seemed to others. The books (channeled material) mentioned a window from the 1980s-2012,  a window of time that psychics claimed couldn't be 'seen' intuitively, a slice of time that no one could project ahead into, as though it had been left for us to figure out ourselves - free-will for everyone on the planet.  I like that idea to this day as it reinforces a belief I hold that we do get to choose certain specifics of our physical reality.

In that respect, Dec 21, 2012 will be one of Your making no matter what manifests or does not manifest on a global scale. That may be the most accurate answer of them all.

Other theories surrounding this whole subject:

* Disclosure. An announcement that aliens are real, they are here or on their way or that they already walk amongst us. The arrival of ships.

* Massive weather shifts, a possible pole reversal. Cataclysmic conditions, earthquakes, tornadoes, you name it.

* A spiritual awakening that tips the majority towards a better and brighter future as we wake up to the fact that we are All One.

* A Change in the way we measure time. The calendar thus becomes the 'end of time' as we have been measuring it, but not the end of the world.

* The return of great Gods who once mingled with humans.

* Events that force us all to work together to 'fix' social problems that have built up and so far have been left unresolved

* Worldwide conflict, a possible third world war.

* The collapse of the financial systems on the planet.

* Reality splits - where this current Earth continues on, but other Earths in other dimensions are born, and we'll all be living on the one most in line with where our energy is at on Dec 21, 2012.

There are as many theories as there are people living on the planet.

I had a lot of ideas since that book piqued my interest 19 years ago. My thoughts have since changed, because from my vantage point as an Astrologer, I see cycles within cycles, a never-ending story. I see no real endings, just cycles of expansion and contraction.

Saying that, the lead up to this point in time does seem to coincide with a feeling of 'contraction'. Things tighten up. Lessons become obvious, inescapable. Time changes, perhaps moving faster. Feelings intensify. issues become larger so that they can be dealt with. Are you feeling it also? Those who remain ungrounded during these times are the ones likely to get swept up into any frenzy and thus become mere pawns playing into the games and manipulations of others who are feeding off people's emotional fear. Those who look for the bigger picture and know that all is unfolding as it should, and who remember their divine heritage and who they really are (or simply put those willing to keep making better choices and refusing to put 'negative' energy back into the pool), will become beacons of light during darker times.

I can say this with certainty - global shifts are here. They have been building for some time. I agree with the "spiritual awakening" theory but I'll also throw in that during a time of a spiritual awakening there is usually an equal measure of people who aren't sure what it means, whether they even want to participate and thus inevitably end up unintentionally joining team of people who want to try and keep things the same, out of fear of change, inadvertently adding to the chaos on the planet.

A pole shift IS upon us, but I am beginning to feel it may be an energetic one. The good gets better, the bad gets worse all under their own self-guided self-fulfilling prophecies. You're either facing your issues and working through them or you're getting lost in your human dramas.  It's all a matter of perspective. If you insist on appeasing your ego and proving everyone else wrong, cutting off people who disagree with you (when they could actually be helping you grow through your old conditioning) then you're likely to wind up with a happy ego but sad soul. In other words, you win the battle but lose the war. If you treat every experience as a challenge and an opportunity to evolve, then you'll sail through the coming years with much more ease. You'll be the change and part of the change everyone is seeking.

Kabbalah defines the world we see with our senses as the 1%. And that the greater reality we can't see is the 99%: that stuff you spend so much time on that you'll inevitably lose when you die. That's the 1% crap. The 99% is the spiritual dimension where you are more than just a human being. As the 1% proves ineffective, unfulfilling or painful, people will be forced back inside themselves to (hopefully) connect to a source of spiritual power (the 99%). In other words, people are beginning to disconnect from the matrix they currently find themselves in and realize there is more going on behind the scenes than we have been led to believe.

In the months and years ahead, you're either adding to Light on the planet or contributing to the blocking of it, and thus you're working for the Dark. Light and Dark are two sides of the same coin of course, and simply labels. But when you're not shining light on your own secrets or conflicts, you're adding to the darkness, it's as simple as that. The Light helps us grow and evolve as a whole, the darkness delays that process.

Light = conscious awareness.

Dark = unconsciousness.

Are you being controlled from behind the scenes by your lower nature, your reptilian brain? Are you, in fact, taking this whole physical life way too seriously, and therefore reacting in ways that pollute your environment further with even more unconscious actions and thus darkness?

The great news is that the darker moments are perfect opportunities to bring in more Light, more conscious awareness. Stop hiding your darkness or hiding from it. Accept that, just like everyone else on the planet, you have the option and choice to align with either. We all have inner 'demons', and it's our personal job to slay them (by bringing them into the light of our conscious awareness, where they can do no harm). That which is lurking behind the scenes, pulling strings, untalked about and ignored/denied or repressed is controlling us, whether we care to admit it or not. The media will continue to be filled with examples of this very fact. "Disclosure" is upon us, of much that has been kept in the dark for so long.

Astrologically, Uranus in Aries represents an awakening of the individual. We can't stop this. People who will no longer sit back and take it. Aries means war, so unexpected conflict (Uranus in  Aries) is inevitable. The individual is demanding its equal rights. People are bubbling with unresolved anger, possibly even the anger that they have an intuitive feeling they are being manipulated and used by those with more power and more financial control. The pyramid is beginning to crumble. Those abusing their power at the top may soon find themselves powerless and defeated at the bottom. And those long suffering souls at the bottom may actually come out on top!

Pluto in Capricorn represents the destruction (Pluto) of outdated systems (Capricorn). All governments are going through a cleansing. Secrets are bubbling to the surface. Nightmare scenarios are being exposed as real (such as how widespread child sexual abuse is, and the key public figures who are part of it). Conspiracy theorists are proving to be correct in their claims, made back in the 80s.

Companies are shutting down due to greed, corruption. People swindling others are being brought to justice. But at the same time, there are those in power who are hiding (Pluto) from the structures they are promoting (Capricorn) that are unhealthy and harmful to our planet as a whole. Through diversion and other more overt methods of control, there are those seeking to do all they can to keep their secrets just that. No wonder we feel such a push-pull right now.

Saturn (our karmic life lessons) is currently in Scorpio. Saturn rules Capricorn. it's the Lesson teacher. In Scorpio, it teaches us through death, losing that which we value. it also rules intimacy - trusting others long enough to get close so that we can do the shadow work of unveiling and transforming our inner darkness (the parts of ourselves where we feel shame, hurt, rage, hatred etc). Scorpio is ruled by Pluto the transformer. When we have the two combined (Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn) we have a "mutual reception" between the two energies. They go hand in hand. Combining the energies of Scorpio and Capricorn we already see the patterns playing out:

Abuse within governing bodies (financial, sexual etc)

Greed/manipulation within existing structures and hierarchies

Massive overhauls and changes necessary to repair what's broken

Death as a vehicle of change to the system

Transforming the rules and regulations

Death/Changing of major political leaders around the world

I talked about Pluto in Capricorn before the fact, so you can compare what was said then, with what has transpired since. This placement also warns of the danger of over-control. As the citizens of planet earth awaken from their slumber and realize to what extent they have been abused and used, lied to and otherwise taken for granted, there will be outbursts and backlashes as people rebel against the rulers of their time. Pluto in Capricorn shows that the powers that be will not give in easily. Controls may be put in place, ways to control people's freedom of speech, movement and individuality. Capricorn is the System and Pluto can represent every effort being made NOT to change!

But Change is synonymous with both planets.

Uranus in Aries will continue to move like a spark of electricity, first via the internet as groups focused on social change (be it the Meditators of Neptune in Pisces or the internet groups or computer hackers of Uranus in Aries), to those who refuse to change just for the sake of it (Saturn in Scorpio). Everyone everywhere is being tested, in public, in private. We are urged to transform the darkness within our personal life, before we entertain any hope or possibility of things shifting in larger scales. one affects the others. one person can truly change the world.

As things intensify, and the world news seems completely bleak, we must not forget one thing. Change is necessary. Look around. Things aren't working on a grand scale. Roads are broken up, people are having to pay for education, healthcare stinks, food is being genetically manipulated (here in California, people actually voted to NOT have genetically modified ingredients listed on their groceries), the list goes on. Things have to change for us to sustain our future on the planet. A happy future at that.

But....things are changing in a positive way, a way no one is really reporting on the owned media news networks. We don't get to see or hear about these changes, thus adding to the darkness on the planet. But the possibility of long term improvement is riding on the wave of the current short term stresses.  There is always a light shining.

How do we feel when we 'wake up' after a night of slumber? Groggy, tired, confused, unsure, vulnerable?

That's how many people are feeling right now across Planet Earth. You can't see them or speak to them but there are people across the globe living with the same conflicts you have, who are trying every day to handle the conflicts raging within themselves. And each decision to move further into the Light, tips the balance of energy on the planet.

People are questioning what they are being told. Smelling a rat when the news and politics of the day are trying to steer them into a place of fear and powerless. People are realizing they can regain their sense of power by looking beyond mere surface appearances. Who gains from tomorrow's conflict or disaster, attack or crisis? What will happen when the balance tips in favor of the Light? What would it take for that to happen?

These are question we may see answered in our time. Where we see light, we must see shadows. And where we see shadows, there is always light. Change sometimes creeps in slowly, for better or worse. Sometimes it arrives with a nuclear blast of devastating proportions. Great change, the type we are all looking forward to, is rooted in truth. "Seek the truth and it shall set you free".  And so I believe that as the truth is told (of course determining the truth can be difficult while Neptune is in Pisces!) the shift many are talking about is facilitated.

Who's to say if some of the 2012 theories are relevant. I expect we'll see the results in 2013-2015 when Uranus and Pluto continue to square off against each other.  As a humanity, we are facing the uncomfortable conflict created when we are forced to face the darkness we have been instrumental in creating, allowing, ignoring or dismissing. We all have a hand in global events, even from just our reaction to the 'news' we see before us each day. What do we do and how do we change when we have become entrenched in negative patterns and behavior. Do we accept the discomfort of change, or insist of digging our heads in the sands? Try as we may, this is just not the page in the history books when that is possible.

And that idea excites me.

Why don't we simply focus on a better world, however that looks to us. if our desires are stronger for the whole than our personal selfish nature, we may just see some major changes - of our own making.
2012, I believe, sets the stage for the unfolding of greater and deeper change - necessary change and often difficult. But we are simply players in a story that has reached a darker chapter but which, with our help, focus, commitment and intention, can have a happy ending.

In other words, as the chapter of the Mayan Calendar ends, the real change begins.
