My New Home!

Well, we're all facing new chapters or the possibility of one, this Summer.

Where is yours?

Mine was a relocation to the beautiful town of Boulder Creek, Northern California. The Astrology of this time? Too much to mention, but for those budding Astrologers amongst you:

Jupiter conjunct my Sun in the 4th House of Home - expansion within the home, travel in connection to home, new comfort zones
Progressed Mars conjunct Mercury in 4th - Activating activity and movement in relation to domestic matters- researching new nests.
Progressed Moon conjunct Moon/Sun in 4th - An evolving need (PR Moon) to find a new dwelling (in 4th) to soothe the soul (Pisces).
Uranus/Jupiter transiting Sun in 4th - Growth (Jup) and freedom (Ura) when it comes to home matters. I felt I'd outgrown my last location.
Saturn in 10th opposing Sun/Mercury in 4th - Upgrading (Sat/10) which came with challenges from a difficult landlord (Sat/10) who blocked one location due to a lack of repairs and follow through, which led to a period of insecurity which ended in a new home and inner strength (Sun/Mer 4). Saturn oppositions are...from a physical standpoint, a bitch (to coin a professional term).
Solar Return Sun in 8th - signifying Major Life Change, possible relocation.
Solar Return Scorpio on 4th House Cusp - 'death' of one home.
Natal Ascendant conjunct Solar Return 4th House Cusp - a new (Ascendant) home (4th), investing in a home (4th) which truly reflects the self (Asc).

For domestic/home matters we look to the 4th House, any planets therein, the ruler of this House and also the Moon, which naturally rules all home and property matters. In my Chart:

Saturn square Moon - challenges to comfort, setting up shop, real estate difficulties etc. I thought I'd gotten away without experiencing this one, but the issues with the landlord, and the problems with securing the first location, revealed itself to be THE challenge that led to a new inner security (you find your emotional resources during Saturn/Moon times when you have to deal with Reality and Figure Things Out as practically as possible). Imagine driving across country, anticipating life in your new beautiful home you've been so excited about (although you were rushed to arrive early to start the lease, no matter), expecting your new home to be ready, getting there and being faced with an ant invasion, the place filthy (including a toilet that had never seen a brush), things in disrepair that were meant to be fixed, black widow spiders sitting waiting to eat you and a landlord who lied-lied-lied and then the next morning (after a night spent in a hotel because the house wasn't fit for move-in), throws your deposit and rent back at you saying 'This Won't Work', while a rental truck with all your belongings sits in the driveway....yep that was what I faced on this trip.

Jupiter Square Moon
- challenges to expanding into a new comfort zone, whilst maintaining the best of the past and inner needs (you can't let go of everything that brings you comfort, without losing your sanity. Jupiter inspired me to pick up and travel, to find a bigger, better and more expensive location, with a view to 'upgrading'. I'm glad things worked out the way they did.

My current home is better than the original one I worked so hard to secure (Jupiter always holds a blessing). My partner and I went through hell when we arrived here, had to stay in hotels with a Budget Rental Truck full of our belongings, whilst we searched for a new home - all because of a mean, deceitful landlord who promised one thing and delivered quite another. We prevailed, and life couldn't be better.

During Serious Saturn Times, hang in there. The hard work always pays off.
I'm taking new Readings now, so get in early for this next round, this Summer will prove to be a huge one - change is knocking at your door. How will you respond?

Feel the pull? Jupiter opposes Saturn (May 22)

Jupiter opposes Saturn today (10.36pm Pacific) - two naturally diametrically 'opposed' energies:

Jupiter in Pisces - emotional growth, expansion through compassion, growth through feeling our way ahead, spiritual adventure and learning that everything is connected through the current of feeling. In short, Love all all. That is the Law.

Saturn in Virgo - healthy boundaries, practical structures, solid platforms, efficient enterprises, fixing the problems. In short - revealing the faults and working on improvement.

Where do these two planets fall in your Chart?

These are the two areas you'll feel this EXPANSION (Jupiter) and CONTRACTION (Saturn). Some may feel it as a need to grow, but feel weighed down with responsibility, obligation, work, duty, heaviness. Others may find they are rushing too fast, and need a more solid plan.

All of us will find the months ahead a time of planning the next chapter, the next adventure, of ascertaining where we want to expand, what we have outgrown, where we are willing to clean up, shape up, trim down and simplify, where we're willing to take a risk to evolve, even despite the fear of failure or life's tough questions - "how will I survive", "will it work out okay?" "can I handle this?" etc. We all feel them, and we've all come to learn with these eternal questions of insecurity gnawing in the back o our minds.

It's time to temper optimism with hard reality, and pessimism with a light hearted remembrance that Life is a Game if you can play by the rules and enjoy the trip.

Change IS here, whether your life seems to look the same on the outside this summer, on the inside seas are stormy, the tides are swelling and storms are brewing. People will take sides, people will fight for their corner of the ring, say they are right, push against obstacles, all the while missing the point that:

The Hard Times inspire in us a desire for what we truly want, and help us grow by showing us a new direction. And that all growth comes with a period of instability, tension and uncertainty
.

All that matters is that we Keep Calm and Carry On, as the poster my brother left me with today says, before I take off on my own adventure up north to a new home.

Feel the tension, feel the fear, and keep moving ahead. Nothing lasts forever here, so enjoy it while you can. We have every reason to keep Hope alive, and Optimism. Clouds come, but the sun is always....always...shining.

Need help? You can count on me to guide you through this time -schedule a Reading or order a Report and together we can map out the road ahead.
See Saw Salutes!

Venus Shifts Part III

Venus (the planet governing all things related to Love, Beauty, Relationship, Finance, Values, Aesthetics, Enjoyment, Appreciation) continues her second important alignment...

Part II - Venus Squares Uranus: May 18 (12:41pm Pacific)

Venus/Uranus times are shocks to the system if you enjoy sudden surprises, and refreshing your frame of reference. Let's face it, everything is in flux and these times remind us of this, in key area.

Uranus electrifies any planet it touches, speeding up its principles and motivations, thus our heartstrings are zapped - we re-awaken to the fact that Love is Everything. Or we find that suddenly we get to appreciate a little more freedom and a little more space and a little more uniqueness in our unions. We understand that Space is Love and Love is Space. That we don't always need to be together. And that being apart, leads the heart to feel its fondness again.

Since the square aspect can be a challenge/test or sense of friction, we could experience this time as sudden attractions, sudden meetings and sudden disconnections. Something is thrown in the works and we have to adapt and adjust.

We'll get to ask in the weeks ahead if were we can appreciate (Venus) the unique individual (Uranus) behind each person we encounter in any relationship (Venus). Can we bring back the freshness we felt when we first connected? If we're single, are we willing to revolutionize our concept of Love, how we Love and who we love? Sudden attractions to those we normally wouldn't 'go for' is common during these times.

Financial: Impulse Purchases. Electrical objects - computers, cables, wires, phones etc. Sudden windfalls and sudden losses. Spending on friends.

Relationship: Internet Attraction(s). Quirky partners. Non-traditional unions. Sudden space created - by choice or by force. Platonic love. Unusual Affections. Valuing authenticity.

This period is about enjoying (Venus) Freedom (Uranus) - whatever that means to us. Freedom to be ourselves. Freedom to let others be themselves. To love (Venus) our friends (Uranus). To free (Uranus) any unhealthy relationship patterns (Venus). To find the beauty Venus) in the eclectic.

To ultimately create relationships that honor who we are as unique beings, connecting in unique ways, to create uniquely intimate ties that both honor space to share and space to be.

Venus Shifts - Part II

Venus (the planet governing all things related to Love, Beauty, Relationship, Finance, Values, Aesthetics, Enjoyment, Appreciation) continues her second important alignment...

Part II - Venus Squares Saturn: May 18 (1:18am Pacific)

Venus/Saturn times are those 'wake up and get back to business' phases, we don't like, but which actually help us go a long way towards furthering something long-term that's built to last, strong, stable and reliable. And in shaky times, this is a blessing - but it does come with commitment, discipline and "work" (yuk, I know...)

Saturn throws a challenge and a test to any planet it's wrapped up with, so the karmic knots we have to untie relate to 'Venus Stuff' (see below). By refusing to bow down to the pressure, by keeping our chins up and by remembering that Saturn Offers a Reward if we Put the Work In, then this period can only strengthen ties, solidify bonds, and give us something we really need - much needed help and support just when we need it most (and our ability to offer help to those who need it to).

Since the square aspect can be a challenge/test or sense of friction, we could experience this time as feeling all fun and enjoyment is being tossed aside for hard work, serious, sobering times or we are faced with blocks to love - we have to try and maintain open hearts in the face of bleak, cold fronts and cold shoulders.

We'll get to ask in the weeks ahead if were willing to invest (Saturn) in our true values (Venus) and commit (Saturn) to Love (Venus) - in all its forms. Love of the inner (self) and love of the outer (other/the world).
Can you play your part and fulfill your duty (Saturn) to bringing more harmony/peace/equality to your life?

Financial: Quality not quantity. Scrimping and saving. Being frugal and sensible. Red Lights that say No or Have Patience. Financial errors that need dealing with. Lack of enjoyment with what is purchased. Money doesn't buy happiness.

Relationship: Low self esteem reflected in relationship stress. Duty over Affection. Parental patterns challenging spontaneous joy. Time to commit? Working at Love. Showing your serious side. Work versus play/pleasure. Scheduling more time to appreciate.Love's Lessons. Learning unconditional love.

VENUS = LOVE
SATURN = FEAR

JUST KEEP CHOOSING LOVE!

Venus Shifts - Part I

Venus (the planet governing all things related to Love, Beauty, Relationship, Finance, Values, Aesthetics, Enjoyment, Apppreciation) is on the move, and about to encountering a few celestial 'partnerings' of her own,in the next few days. Stay tuned for the lowdown....

Part I - Venus Squares Jupiter: May 17 (6:57am Pacific)

Venus/Jupiter times are pretty darn nice - since they both represent the 'good feeling' stuff in Astrology, they really don't represent any major stress or challenge (despite it being a "square" aspect. Jupiter brings us MORE of things it touches, thus expanding our desire for the 'nice things' in life. Since the square aspect can be a challenge/test or sense of friction, we could experience this time as wanting too much too fast, overspending, over-promising, overindulging on the finer things of life (that goes for sweet foods, drinking, partying) or not doing enough and just idly letting the world drift by, being lazy etc). But who said that was bad?

Since so much is going on right now bringing a sense of tension to many of us, this alignment is one we should look forward to. Sometimes, excess can actually lead to wisdom, in that the more we experience something, the more we realize what our true values (Venus) are. Overdoing it, then, leads to learning (Jupiter). Once we're satiated, do we really feel full and fed and satisfied? Or is this just a quick fix and a distraction (like retail therapy)?

Do more of what you desire, by all means. If it feels good, it can't be that bad for you. Moderation is hardly the theme of this period, though, so where you can, go steady, pace yourself and take it easy.

Financial: Lucky for some (if you don't overdo it). Gamblers love this alignment. Scratch card sales increase. People spend BIG. Paying for travel, classes, adventures, 'the experience', books, magazines, road trips. Get rich quick plans. Lots of 'potential' without much planning. Lavish, luxurious exploits and pursuits.

Relationship: Lucky in love. People want more affection, show more affection, great time for throwing parties (but make sure you have enough food/drink!), spreading the (en)joy(ment), hitting the road with those you love, optimism breeds abundance.

Mercury is Direct...but....

Mercury, the planet people love to blame for their computer crashes, internet irritations, miscommunications and other assorted annoyances, is no longer Retrograde. It's what's called (in the biz) 'Direct' right now, meaning it's no longer likely to manifest as the Trickster and hound you with unfinished business and delays and frustrations.

Manifestations I saw during its retrograde period in Taurus (sign of earth, property, money, value, manifestation, practical matters): ATM machines all going down, Best Buy (a store that sells mostly Mercury artifacts) had a power outage, friends had to call the bank for charges that didn't make sense on their account, overdraft fees from nowhere, lost objects turning up once more (whilst some remain hidden), people revisiting old neighborhoods, moving back to places they have been before, old health issues flaring up again, repeated phone calls made and no messages back (the same goes for emails), things lost in the mail...and I am sure many more personal ones I'll remember after I hit "POST".

SO Mercury is no longer Retrograde. Many will be relieved. However....Mercury won't reach the point in the zodiac it was at before it turned Retro, until around May 28 -so you may have to wait until then to feel that you're totally out of the woods, in the clear, ready to storm ahead and able to pick up where you left off etc.

In the meantime, whatever reversal you may experience, embrace it as a gift. Wherever you change your mind, see it as a free-will blessing, and whatever you experienced in the past 3 weeks, see it as a lesson. so you'll be better equipped to handle anything similar down the line.

Mercury won't go retrograde again until August 20th. I'll help you navigate through that nearer the time.

As always, the Astrological Wind At your Back,
Neil

Healing Tears: Chiron enters Pisces

Chiron, the energy of the 'unique perspective', radical approaches and the art of Healing Your Soft Spot, just moved signs: from the awakening freedom-loving technological sign of Aquarius (bringing an awareness of collective causes via the Internet, cell phones, blogs, Youtube and other technological means, and thus a chance to heal others via these mediums...note the collective buzz online of events such as Katrina and Haiti) into the watery depths of the zodiac's final sign of Transition: Pisces, the Fishes.

Chiron was last in Pisces in the 60s and is back now to remind us of the final lesson of Healing - through the wave of emotion that washes through the human heart. Chiron in Pisces (which began on April 20) will bring many of us tears of joy or tears of sorrow, often both, reminding us that Emotions Connect Us All. Humanity dissolves back into the ocean of cosmic awareness during this time. Events conspire to remind us to feel, and that many of our wounds are related to areas where we have distorted, repressed or blocked off our Feeling Centre.

Look around and you may see this play out in your own life or the lives of those close to you - as people release feeling, a softening takes places, and suddenly we are connected to Source. We are sensitized to the Moment. And we learn Compassion. Once we know what it feels like to Hurt, we are in a perfect place to understand the pain of others, and choose to be part of the Grand Healing.

Which leads us to a big question: Are You Part of a Grand Healing or Grand Hurting?

Those who have been hurt are often the most likely likely TO hurt. Bullies create bullies. The abused go forth and abuse. All a reflection of punishing the self (in that what we do to another is ultimately done to the self). But it doesn't have to be this way. Chiron in Pisces, is an opportunity.

Think about how many possible feelings there are. Take the 'cycles of grief' (Dr Elisabeth Kubler). Or the range of feelings in an actors repetoire. Everything that manifests now is an opportunity to heal, dissolve further into the ocean of Oneness, to connect through feeling. Life events (on the large global scale as well as the small day-to-day scale) will give us a chance to FEEL. To see the illusion for what it is, and to remember that behind the 1% madness of the seemingly chaotic Physical World, there is the 99% of the Spirit World, the energy behind all manifestations.

The 1% brings us the polarity points of Pain and Pleasure. Light and Dark.
The 99% is the place of No Need. Ultimate Understanding. Absolute Bliss.

As souls journeying into the 1% to create our own lives, we leave behind the ease of the 99 but never fully disconnect. Our job during Chiron in Pisces is to remember our connection, to download the inspiration and to see the bigger picture. To reclaim our Divinity as Gods in Amnesia.

Cry or laugh, smile or sigh, Chiron offer us a chance to heal any pain, any wound, any darkness through the light of Compassion - for self and for other. No thinking. Just pure feeling.

Tears are a funny thing - and there is a fine line between tears shed in joy, and tears shed in sorrow. Emotions move like the ocean, sometimes turbulent, forever flowing. And it's pointless building a dam against such natural forces.

Feel your feelings, and enjoy the exquisite journey into the 1% that we came here, as humans, to experience.

If you're feeling a tad on the sensitive side, or lost in the current waves, or just want a surfing partner, I'll wade out with you and together we can deep sea dive for jewels. Schedule a Reading for your bigger picture and I'll show you a new perspective.

Life is beautiful. Enjoy the gift, enjoy your Present.

Neil

Ricky Martin's Astrological 'Outing'

Singer Ricky Martin finally came out of the closet as a gay man, a newsworthy story that (of course) warrants some Astrological Research, so for those interested, this is what the Chart says for this event:

We look to the Progressed Moon to see where our current emotional focus lies: events always manifest externally due to internal pressures/fixations/focus. Since our emotions are so strongly pulled while here on Earth, it's a key player in the timing of events. At the time of his coming out, the Progressed Moon had just moved into a new sign (signifying a "new chapter" in life). Since his Natal Moon is placed in his 10th house of Public Reputation, each time the Progressed Moon shifts house or sign, Ricky's career/public self will go through a transition.

In his 3rd House (of announcements, communications, writing) he 'found his voice' and announced on an online blog, that he was indeed gay. The sign of the progressed Moon: Virgo - succinct, clear cut, information. No frills. No holds barred. Simply stated.

His Progressed Mercury (his evolving Voice) is only 1 degree away from his Natal Venus (his desires/what he loves/relationships) in his 8th House (sex, sexuality, secret information). The perfect brewing for the revelation. Which sign? Aquarius - at 0 Degrees, the sign of the rebel, outsider, often referred to as the 'deviant' - someone who does things outside of the norm (of course to Aquarius, there IS no norm).

Transit Mars opposed this configuration, drawing a line and adding energy to the mix.
Mars is another 'sexuality' planet. Second House - self esteem. Leo - self glory.

As always, when events manifest, we can always see multiple factors, and here we have them:

Transit Mercury (messages, announcements, communications) is conjunct his Progressed Mars (actions) in his 11th House (of independence, freedom, uniqueness). Time to express his inner feeling (and need) for ultimate freedom )the 11th house theme. Sign: Aries - the Self ("my way or the highway").

Transit Sun spotlights Natal Chiron
(uniqueness, differentness, rebellion, wounds/healing) in Aries - sign of the self. 10th House: public reputation.
It's time to heal that wound of not truly being the self.

Transit Uranus (freedom, liberation, breaking up stagnant patterns) unlocks the Mars/Moon (self identity and needs) in 10th House - further demonstrating the need to bust out, break free, truly let the self shine.

Transit Pluto (destroying and revamping, rebirthing, sexuality) teaming up with the Capricorn Sun (self identity) to break down his old image and to let his real self shine bright (or suffer for not doing so). Seventh House = relationship. Capricorn = via his reputation.

Transit Mars triggers his Progressed Ascendant (his evolving appearance and approach to life) giving him the firepower to and brushing up against his Natal South Node (his soul's past) - the bringing out (Asc) something from the past (s node)in dramatic fashion (Leo).

Transit Saturn triggers Natal Pluto in 4th House. Saturn: focus, discipline, getting serious about this part of life. Pluto: power, transformation, sexuality. 4th House: deeply personal stuff, family, emotional needs. Life Foundation.

This time is about finding personal power, digging (Pluto) deep inside (4th). Revealing (Pluto) the inner self (4th House) in a public way (Saturn).

Finally, the North Node of his karmic path reminds us that he came here to dig deep and explore unusual (Aquarius) sexual paths (8th House) to explore power (8th) through being different. (Aquarius).

If it manifests, it's always found in the Chart. Hope this gives you a new perspective on the field and how much value it can be.

When something is ready to 'pop' you'll see it there if you're ready and willing to ride with the winds of change blowing through your life.

By choice or by force, from within or from without, we'll experience it. Life is always moving. Move with it, and we find Joy. Resist, and we experience pain.

Which way are you moving with the tide of change in your life right now?

Dark Love: Venus square Pluto (March 11)

Venus (love, relationship, our values) is about to square (challenge) Pluto (the darkness, death, rebirth, transformations, intensity).

For a full run down on what this means for us, read my post Our Dark Embrace, from the last time these planetary energies did this dance together, to see how it may reflect goings-on in your own life.

I'll add to the above article the following:

Venus relates to our values, what we hold dear to us. Pluto relates to the transformation and burning off of whatever shadows are holding us back (ultimately fear [disconnection from Source energy]. If venus relates to our possessions also, Pluto could suggest the losing or letting go (by choice or by force) or to redevelop a new appreciation of the things we have and the people close to us.

Whatever comes up for transformation and transmutation in the weeks ahead, remember that
Love is Love. Everything else is illusion.
Let this bring you back to your true Self once more.

Neil

Lady Gaga: Astro Profile

It's been a while since I posted a snapshot of a celeb on the blog (confidentiality, I'm afraid) but here is a sneak peak at Lady Gaga, a prime figure in the musical world currently and no doubt here to stay.

An Aries with a Scorpio Moon (and Venus in Aries - the aggressive lover (growl/bite/scratch), Gaga is an independent pioneer with the soul of a sorceress. Aggressive, direct with a taste for the darker side. Just look at the closing image of her Bad Romance video - lying on a bed beside the charred skeletal remains of her lover. Scorpio always loved the death motif. (And don't forget the infamous Scorpio inpenetrability , the Scorpio "poker face" (incidentally the title of one of her songs).

Notice also her love of being hidden behind dark glasses or covering one of her eyes.

Mars at the top of her solar chart gives her the drive and ambition (in Capricorn) to get to the top and stay there. Don't doubt this woman's business ability and hard work. Success is her goal and determination is her fuel. There is simply no stopping this soul. Move out of the way.

Lady Gaga is currently enjoying her Progressed Sun conjuncting her North Node in Taurus. The spotlight (Sun). Comfort. Luxury. and Money (Taurus) = Success. The time is ripe for her to come into her own. Bingo. Right on time. If she can handle her finances and not lose herself to physical gratification, she'll continue to do well.

Gaga has a softer side, which could lead her to seek solace in drugs, alcohol, sex, whatever she feels will blur the edges of reality. She's best to stick to symbolic acts of fantasy than to "act out". She has Jupiter and Mercury Retrograde in Pisces. And her Sun square Neptune, a very boundary-less alignment (also representing the unavailable father and disillusionment by men).

She's mystical, believes in the unseen, is extremely psychic, can read people well but also must retire from the world so that she can psychically recharge.

So, an aggressive pushy, direct trailblazer and a soft sensitive misunderstood escapist. An intriguing mix. And why her style, appearance, alluring mystery and sex appeal is so evident.

Something deep and dark lurks behind the scenes, and maybe we'll get to discover what this is, but only if gaga herself choses to reveal. She is very very private. Her past lives show great power (wielded by her or likely used against her or her family or within her family tree). Emotional or sexual abuse (notice her overtly "sexual" persona - no doubt crafted from being objectified in her past lives or early part of this one, (or being sexually denied/shunned/repressed - now she gets to enjoy it openly). Other past life motifs: Control. manipulation. Or just deep loss. Now she has a chance to enjoy some peace (with some war, she likes that) and some physical satisfaction, and material comfort. After all that destructiveness, life has that in store for her, if she so chooses. Beautiful.

About to experience her Jupiter Return, a time of growth, opportunity, far off travel and good fortune (and overdoing things) look for some water themes in her upcoming work and some spiritual messages and emotional tunes (heartache, heartbreak, some drug and drink and "being lost" themes, and also music/videos relating to victim hood and addiction). Jupiter is in Pisces after all. Uranus planet of surprises enters Aries this year, so look for some big shifts in her style. Some shocking news stories and acts, as she ruffles feathers and refuses to be categorized. Uranus won't hit her sun until 2011-12 but we'll begin to see some hints at her outlandishness.

Pluto will hit her Neptune in her House of Career this summer - bringing her more power as she mesmerizes (Neptune) the masses in a form of mind control and hypnosis.
She's a channel for larger powers, bigger symbols and universal messages. It's like her own Vegas show is well under way. Magic. Illusion. Fantasy. Depravity.

Madonna, move aside.

Lady Gaga, whether she knows it or not, is a channel and a messenger (or puppet) for greater themes and images that can either uplift and heal or reveal to us the fragile side of spirit in a world of matter. Her own struggles and experiences are presented on stage as her inner conflicts become food for her visions, coupled with her talent at tapping into the collective unconscious.

A dreamweaver, an enchantress. Now you know why she's captivated the imaginations of many. She has them by them heart strings (or balls) and she won't let go.
