Busting out !- Jupiter squares Uranus

Today, we witness a major Astrological Alignment. The last time Jupiter squared Uranus was on Jan 23 2007 and it's back. it's a biggie so here again is the lowdown:


Expansive, over-the-top and greener-pastures Jupiter squares off against freedom-fighter, rebellious and status-quo-shifting Uranus.

Feeling a pull to break free? Congratulations, you're feeling the almighty showdown between these two boisterous and big planets. Jupiter wants better things, Uranus wants to do it differently. Jupiter wants to better the world, so does Uranus, but both have different opinions. More is better, screams Jupiter. Out with the old in with the New, hollers Uranus.

Socially, it's a time of unrest and upheaval - intensified under this alignment. Culture (Jupiter) clashes (Uranus) are inevitable. We're trying to free ourselves (Uranus) from the clutches of repressive religion (Jupiter) uneducated education (Jupiter rules knowledge) and intellectual arrogance (Jupiter likes to claim it owns the Truth).

Some possible manifestations:

Religious exile - people abandon their previous beliefs, members of the church quit, resign or are fired, or change faiths altogether, or else abandon their faith entirely!

Educational exile - teachers do the same thing as the priests as mentioned above. Strikes or at least a shakeup in how the educational system works. Could there be the introduction of shocking new ways to teach people or more spiritual and metaphysical instruction (quantum physics, psychic information, Astrology etc?)

Racism - earlier in January when this aspect broke last we heard breaking news stories of this on mainstream media (Uranus rules television, radio and the broadcast media in general) on shows like Big Brother in England where contestants got into a name-calling racist brawl. Our prejudice (Jupiter) is exposed as being anything but humanitarian (Uranus).

New Gay Laws - Uranus relates to the 'deviant' and the things most of society feels go against what it 'stands for'. Anything that goes against the grain and is 'different'. So homosexuality would fit the bill here, and since Jupiter relates to Law, we could see more challenges (since this is a square aspect of tension) and a greater push for more social equality and liberation. Uranus/Jupiter could see overseas (Jupiter) marriage or at least civil partnerships (Jupiter).
Could immigration laws be ready to be revamped to allow for more fairness and social acceptance? Here's hoping.

Travel Innovation: new ways to travel - and more technology within travel (biometrics, eye scanners, fingerprints etc). Faster and speedier ways to get from A to B. Could this be the beginning of those 2 hour planes from LA to Australia? Or how about teleportation? Travel gets a little crazier so look out for diversions, new routes and perhaps more efficiency - but don't hold your breathe, it always comes with a cost. Hopefully it's not one of freedom or privacy?

Electrifying Inventions - some larger than life ideas, ideals and philosophies. Listen up for some big words, hotshot ideas and some 'here's the solution' remarks from people who big mouths who love to spout hot air. Big words, bright ideas.

Illuminated Thought - the Eureka! Aha! moments of life. Some amazing intuitions that channel their way into our heads, downloaded from the great beyond. There are truly some tripped out ideas floating around now. Will you be the one with the next multi-billion dollar idea or a solution to a major world issue?


Both Jupiter and Uranus are unruly energies so things are very unstable right now. Cultural ideologies can bring us together or tear us further apart now. The Truth in one area of life can separate us and divide us if it claims other ideas aren't truth. Let's face it - Truth is subjective and depends on your point of view. Everyone sees things differently.

What law are you standing for and is it accepting of everyone as a whole or selective?
Are you beliefs purely rebellious with no real purpose?
Are you seeking to better your life or merely rock the boat?

The world has to answer these questions now. Things get larger than life, and pretty crazy at times now. Social issues get blown out of proportion but we do get one benefit now: to see where we're become so enamored of our version of the truth we've forgotten we're connected.

So this next few weeks, take a look around and within your own life.

Horary Astrology Predictions: Britney, her kids and career

Far be it for me to nose into others businesses (I have Scorpio Rising so i value privacy) I have recently been studying Horary Astrology and it's a great tool to use for prediction. Technical, but worthy of some study. I am giving one a shot here for those who asked me to dive a little deeper.
Personally I do not know Britney Spears, and if you stop here Brit, I just wanna say the best to you on your current spiritual transformations. Being in the spotlight does put a lot of extra weight on already weary shoulders.

So the horary question is to see how things will shape up for her, her kid situation and her career. This is what i got:


Britney is represented by the 7th House (the person being asked about) ruled by traditional Jupiter, who is found in Sag (very strong placement) in the 9th House (double whammy, this is where it belongs). I truly believe seeing this, that she's just pushing pushing pushing for something new. She's BORED! She wants to try new things, be a new person, she's destroying the image everyone has of her. They are WRONG. An example of an Aquarius Moon rebelling against even her own image. Fun stuff. No one sees the cosmic joke here I guess, but maybe Britney is having the last laugh when it comes to her career choices.

Since she's represented by Pisces in the Chart though, there is a little bit of spacy, driftiness, which could account for the escapism, drugs, drink etc. And with her ruler in the 9th House she is more inclined to take off and travel the world than want to stay put and deal with drama and details.

The flip side is that she'll wage a major legal war soon if she's not brewing one already. 9th House, jupiter and Sag relates to legal cases. Also she may wheel out a book as it's publishing. Her story? Or is she going to sue her company, managers or K Fed?

Jupiter is soon to square to the Moon (another major factor in a Horary chart to analyze the situation) in her 6th House (employees) so it's possible it's a management company legal issue that is brewing already. Either that or a doctor or health practitioner (6th house rules health). And after this, the Moon will apply to an opposition with Uranus - there is a dramatic face off upcoming it seems. Overthrowing the status quo again, is her health or work about to take a major new direction?

Her Children would be represented by the 5th House (kids) from her house which would be Cancer, (ruled by the Moon). Since the Moon is about to square Jupiter and oppose Uranus, there is likely to be some form of fight or legal dispute over this. And a decision could be overturned - perhaps she'll be given custody again sooner than we think. Since the aspect between the planets representing her (Jupiter) and her kids (Moon) is applying (coming together) this does show them being brought back together. However, it's a square aspect so there is likely to be tension in the process. SO i wonder what deal they'll work out. She won't be kept from her kids.

Now her career would be the 4th House of this chart. And there is Pluto. Death and Rebirth. More raunchy? Is she about to do a Madonna and bring out the sexual vibes? It's dark and brooding, political too. Or is she going to jack it all in? Is it Pluto crash and burn? All possibilities. Pluto separating from an opposition to Mars in her 4th House shows a setback due to family conflicts that just passed (we know all about this) and she's just passed a Puto trine to her 6th house Saturn in her 6th which is a turnout in her health and work focus. Detox, purification.

I do wonder about the Libra Sun in her 7th. Surely this is a relationship issue that underlies all of this? The Sun about to apply to her Jupiter and Neptune could show a major relationship development. This woman is not staying single for long I don't think. Is it a Leo or Libra guy? Strong possibilities, I don't know everyone's sign so let me know if you do. I don't know enough Horary Astrology to describe the 'other' guy. he's Virgo in appearance (clean cut but yet his ruler is in Scorpio so there's a dark edge to him -is this K Fed again or someone else?) He's a charmer with a great smile but keeps a lot of his personality behind his mask.

We'll see. I'll leave it here and feel free to post comments or your own opinions. This is my first Horary Analysis, maybe the future ones will be more detailed!

POST-SCRIPT: After completing this analysis, I saw on the news her new album was entitled Blackout. Highly symbolic when you think of Pluto in her Career House.

In answer to your questions - Britney's Analysis

Progressed Chart

Britney's progressed chart saw Pluto (death, rebirth, transformation) cross her Libra Ascendant (beauty). I don't recall when she shaved her head but a total transformation in appearance (1st House) and a darker slant on how she is seen by others (1st House) in the media. Libra is all about looks, Pluto however, is all about extremes and often, the loss of something.

Transit Rundown

Taking a look at her current cycles we see Saturn leaving her 11th House of social interaction to wade into the deeper waters of the 12th House. Often this is a period of aloneness, vanishing from the radar. Perhaps she'll decide to vanish for a little while ready for her resurrection when Saturn hits her 1st House again at the end of 2009. Saturn rules her 4th house of family and foundation so its passage through the 12th house (resolution) is sure to be a time when she'll have to check herself into some form of spiritual rehab, in order to cleanse away psychic 'stuff' she's amassed that block her from her soul.

Between now and December, Saturn will be squaring her Sun (as one of you mentioned) which happens to all of us twice a year and is a test of progress, of our resolve and strength. Energy is depleted and we feel up against a brick wall. With Saturn in her 12th by then, it's sure to be a troubling spiritual issue. The 12th house is escapism, addictions, self-undoing as many older Astrologers used to say, so she'll be tested to see if she can work through troubling inner issues without giving up, quitting, opting out or checking out. Release is what her soul seeks and Saturn will make sure she gives something ip. the 12th house is a form of sacrifice. What will she renounce?

As the year ends Saturn retrogrades back out of her 12th into her 11th which may give the illusion of a rebirth but there is still more work to be done. So I suspect we'll hear more news and Dec and Jan roll around on her continued progress (or lack thereof as judgmental souls would have it).

By March 2008, Pluto moves to her IC (the 4th House cusp) and the lowest part of her chart relating to again her home, family and foundations. A death of one way of life, old habits, possibly a death within the family, would be a major psychic shift for her, an give her a reason to change her life from the ground up. So yes, she's about to transform but in April Pluto goes retrograde so she'll have a lot of 'going over the past' to face in order to allow herself to move on.

Some of you asked about her reputation. Cancer rules her Midheaven (our career status, how the world views us) and that's ruled by the Moon (the most changeable force in Astrology). Cancer is the sign of the USA so it's no wonder she was so well received here (bush is a Cancer too in case you wondered) but as the Moon shows its emotional fickleness, the public's opinion (ruled by the Moon also) changes from day to day. We love you, we condemn you. Bush and Britney both.

Interestingly enough, Cancer relates to parenting, mothering, nurturing. Since Cancer is on her Midheaven, this is how everyone will remember Britney - for how good of a Mom she was or how bad. Again, the public does love to talk, but no wonder she was help us as a sign of parenting, and publicly discussed as to her role as a Mom.

Chiron, the wounded healer, as been trampling over her birth Moon (in her 5th house of children) so it's no surprise the wounds she's received were the loss of her kids. But this was no real loss, since it her healing of her own wounded inner child (which I suspect is more the issue here) proves to be the biggest gift of all in order for her to reconnect with her kids once more.

Aquarius Moon's Moms (again, the USA has an Aquarius Moon so we have here a singer and a country both making headlines news for the way it's treating the innocent...interesting eh?) And again, her 'strange parenting' is very Aquarius Moon. So be it. She's a free spirit and of course, liberated, 'new age' parenting is the way to go here. Britney is just being Britney when it comes to her kids.

By October, Chiron stops retrograding over her Moon, easing up the tension on her heart and soul and the stress of the entire children custody situation. You may find it of interest that Neptune (drugs, alcohol) has been moving through her 5th House also, underlining the reason for her custody loss - her drug use and testing and so forth.


I'll post a HORARY Chart which is a predictive tool many Astrologers use. I'll attempt my own interpretation although this a technical science I myself haven't spent that long mastering. For those interested there are many Horary Astrologers out there, and it's worth a look. Maybe I'll post more of these if you're interested.

Britney Spears I noticed (A Sagittarius) is not only experiencing the last of her Pluto cycle (death, rebirth, loss, transformation - can we say husband and hair?) but she is currently in her 8th House Mars Initiation.

Aggression, Anger, Energy directed to: 8th House = death, loss, transition, transformation.

And the top news story today on her is that she has lost custody of her kids.

Each House has an initiation and if we can't 'pass' the test by choice, we'll pass it by life forcing us into situations where we'll experience it. In the 8th House, Britney had to kill off parts of her life path that were not fueling her soul growth. Perhaps the loss of her children is a major part now in her continual soul transformation.

Aggressive Mothering: Mars moves into Cancer

Fights with your Mom? Family friction? Home Improvement Projects? Smoke alarms going off? Stomach problems? A Crabby and Emotional public? Needy, clingy feelings and vibes? An aggressive roomie or tenant? Something bubbling away inside or or beneath you?

Whether it's you or someone else, keep an eye open for these beauties now that Mars the planet of aggression moved into Cancer, sign of the home, mom, family and personal space.

Not that it's all negative - this is a great time to MAKE YOURSELF COMFY. To be your own mom and to make sure your nurturing skills aren't turning into a smothering or control compaign. That's what the game calls for now - energy (mars) directed into your personal energy space (Cancer).

Everyone is fierce about having their needs met now. And they'll fight you for their right to personal territory. Just you watch - overstep someones emotional safe space and you'll get to hear about it this month. It's the protective mother hen type of month.

Keep an eye on your emotions - aggression and anger could be signs you're not following your feelings or looking after yourself. Walking into other people's emotional minefields is unwise. At least step back and realize it's no one's job to make you feel safe. That's your own choice.

Take out stress on fix it projects, cuddling and making some kick-ass meals for yourself. Baking, anyone?

Passive Aggressiveness rules the day, so if you have something to say, say it, stop tucking it inside your belly or you'll wind up with digestion issues! And no one likes the air polluted with the 'No i'm fine, but I'm going to sit and stew so you KNOW I'm not fine' vibes. Sulkers - stop it!

Enjoy making your home a little more homey and your inner comfort (in your own skin) a priority now. And if you come across any Cancerians on your travels, don't piss them off coz they are no mood to mess.

Sexual Subliminals & Mental Minefields: Mercury enters Scorpio

Sex on the brain?
Thinking about Halloween?
Talking about murder, death, destruction?

Course you are. Mercury the mental messenger just flew into Scorpio, donned its X-ray machine and lie detector and is sniffing the shadows for signs of life. I'm sure you are too.
Mental energies become very deep now - if you're not analyzing your dreams you're performing psychic surgery on something or someone to find out how much you can trust it, or to find out how it really works.

Mercury shows what we're thinking about and chances are the news media (and our heads) are gonna be full of the dark depths of this season - masks, corruption, big money deals, debt, revenge, jealousy, addictions and Sex sex sex sex sex.

Rise above your own shadow.

Yes, it's a shady, subliminal time. But since sex is one of the most powerful forces around (ask any Scorpio) no wonder most societies have major issues with it still, (stamping it out, saying its 'bad') and no wonder religion tries to turn us away from it (control a person's personal power and you have them by them the sensitive parts, pun intended).

Astrology has always given people a chance to empower themselves. Maybe it's time to research more of it yourself (or Wicca, witchcraft, other energy work or things people told you were 'scary, wrong, evil'). Own a Tarot deck? investigate. These are all tools. You do the work but they all help in the process of awakening your latest intuition.

Animals are all still psychic. So are we. But who turned us away from trusting our own cosmic radar?

Befriending Inner foes: Full Moon in Aries! (Sep 25)

This Wednesday the Full Moon lands in the sign of Aries - war, aggression, assertiveness, action, initiation, inspiring us to pioneer old ground or to walk away from old lives and creating new beginnings out of the tattered remains of yesterdays soul-cleansing fires.

As the first sign of the zodiac wheel, Aries is the starter, the Fire Starter I guess you could say (since that's its element) but under a Full Moon things reach a completion, a culmination and we receive word from the Universe in the form of a progress report.

Full Moons remind us to 'let go' in areas where we're overdoing, overstriving and otherwise resisting the flow of cosmic energy in our lives. A new beginning is hard, when we're caught up in yesterday's shadows. So this week we look both forward (Aries) and backwards (Full Moon) separating old paths with new trails yet to be blazed.

We can help this along by following a few of these suggestions, tailor made for this particular lunar phase this week:

Work on Anger Management Issues - should anger ever BE managed? If not - all hell can break loose, or we end up in all-out war. But repressing it does us no good. Work out a way to meet your needs head-on and confront obstacles with courage, confidence and total honesty.

Let go of the need to be first - people push, people shove, they cut you off on roads and they are impatient and self-centered. This weekend, let them be. Save yourself a headache!

Give up selfishness - sometimes your needs can't be met by anyone else but you. That's life so accept it.

Go kickboxing, play squash/tennis - anything that's high energy and aggressive or fast.
Pump Iron - Aries loves raw energy and a show of macho. Push your limits just know when to quit.

Chill out - is it worth getting so heated over?

Burn something - in a safe environment, but try a Full Moon Fire Ritual - on Friday, burn things that symbolize what you're trying to move away from or let go of. Works wonders.

Quit banging your head against a brick wall. Find another way.

DO something - Aries Full Moons ask for energy and drive, committed to achieving a task. Knock down a wall, build something, go for a jog, work out, wrestle, buy a punchbag, scream, sing a rock song at karaoke, start 18 new projects and alternate between them all.

Burn off calories, then you won't be so easy to trigger. A relaxed body/mind is harder to agitate!

Cut hair, do face treatments - Full Moons are good times to cut hair (to grow back slower). Aries relates to the Head so prune crazy hair, give yourself a facial. Legend has it that cutting hair can release stagnant energy some cultures say resided in hair. Look back and notice your haircuts after a breakup, or breakdown? It released old energy. perhaps it's time for another makeover?!

In short - stop thinking, feeling and analyzing and wondering. Just Do It!

Full Moons pull liquids on the planet and within our bodies, making us more emotional and touchy. It'd be easy to get into a fight under Aries energy this week but it's a waste of good raw energy. Remember energy is directed where our conscious will is focused. Save it or squander it, the choice is ours.

Raw energy is sexy - that's why Mars, the ruling planet associated with Aries is about Drive and Desire. Conquering something becomes a theme this weekend - we NEED a fight, we NEED a challenge, we NEED something to win over, we NEED something to put ourselves against. Moons show emotional needs. Aries energy is driven and goal oriented and won't be denied!

We all turn into Stone Age men and women - back in the primal days of the Universal Fire. Separating ourselves out from the fold, showing how brave we are. These days, fights are taken to sports arenas or worse, into the fields of cities, town and villages, or into the home and family, the originator of all future 'fight-plans' and 'fight patterns'.

Find your 'beef', uncover the roots of your anger and dispute, and resolve to resolve it by the only means possible - facing it. What you do when you confront it is up to you but in the handling the issue, lies the possible resolution.

Remember, inactivity is also an action. Anger has a time and a place - and we shouldn't shy from it. It's not un-spiritual to get mad, says the Aries Full Moon. It's emotional and human. But it is raw untapped and untamed power from within that bubbles out in such moments, a spark from a much greater fire. A passionate seething cauldron of emotional power we can use to further our lives and create something greater, from the friction caused by seeing something that reflects less than we could be. That after all, is the basis of every fight - both within and without - seeing ourselves or another, being less than we (or they, in our perception) could be.


Mars and Pluto are at odds with this Full Moon and are the ruling planets of the sign of Aries so the need to confront ourselves increases, if not, we'll be faced with plenty of people whom we can cast in our inner conflicts, and wind up staging them outside ourselves, in the form of more war, ravaging, rape, conquest and destruction. The choice is yours - fight the inner battle, or see it explode outside?

Go forth, warriors. Fight the good fight, or better still - face off with inner demons and remove all reasons to fight, by befriending the foes within!

Taking out the trash....Pluto goes Direct (Sep 7)

Since March 31, Pluto the planet of death, rebirth, regeneration and transformation has been moving retrograde (backwards) and tomorrow moves direct (back to normal) once more.

In Sagittarius, who hasn't had their beliefs challenged? Who hasn't been questioning whether this philosophy or that idea or concept is valid, accurate, real or true? Who hasn't been forced to be completely honest to themselves and be forced to learn most painful lessons when veering from the course we know in our heart is the right one for us?

This phase of inner resurrection comes to a form of completion during this next Pluto cycle. It does mean that some chapters will inevitably close with a finality you've not experienced til well before March 2007. Remember when you could be done and really mean it? Remember when endings meant you could pick up the pieces and carry on? Recent days and months have seen old issues haunt us still ("but i thought I had learned that!") or else fragments from a half-forgitten (or repressed) past came back to poke and prod us into dealing with them once again.

Darkness hasn't waned around us, it just went into hiding. Now, when Pluto turns direct again we get a surge of power, collectively, to deal with the dark, and turn out the old so that we can celebrate a renewed sense of self, spirit and soul.

On the simple level, Pluto will allow for a parting of the ways in some area of your life (look to the House Pluto is currently passing through). Very briefly though (contact me for more depth as always):

Aries can destroy all others codes of conduct and finally follow their own custom-made belief system.
Taurus can realize that power often comes from what we choose not to do than what we actually manifest.
Gemini can find their own strength or manipulation mirrored back to them through other people who come or go now.
Cancer can clean up the mess by seeing once and for all which parts no longer work in the whole of their life picture.
Leo can find the power of play acting instead of playing games in order to feel truly loved and appreciated.
Virgo can find safety and security on changing ground knowing that home is a sense of self, not a physical thing or place.
Libra can tune their mind into only things they desire and no longer give power to shadows of possibilities.
Scorpio can ground their new-found self belief and self worth into projects of power that further their financial and personal wealth.
Sagittarius can be proud of the spiritual weight lost of late and how aloneness was needed to accomplish the cleanse.
Capricorn can release the toxins accumulated to date and complete a cycle of collecting all things that block us from our true spiritual core.
Aquarius can free themselves from old dreams that haunt but no longer satisfy and mix with those who have a purpose and a power to reform instead of rebel for its own sake.

Seriously Simple: Saturn moves into Virgo

Saturn just moved into Virgo.

It's time to get serious - about simplifying things. In the next 2.5 yr period look for personal changes surrounding:

A new improved schedule - are you waking up earlier, later - what are you doing daily? Is it a healthy habit or hindering your health?

A new fitness program - more herbs, less carbs or sugar? More natural? Yoga? A new gym? Stretching for breakfast? Or will your body finally send you a message to show you're living out of harmony with your true Nature?

Work and Job shifts - as you begin to see how to serve through your own special vocation. Are you a slave to a corporation or following a course that feels good and helps people? Do you care about what you're providing? Is quality more important or are you just clocking in?


On the bigger scale - the health industry undergoes a major reevaluation. Hospitals, Vitamins, natural remedies and procedures. New health advances and major setbacks and new rules and regulations in the mentioned fields.

Workers rights are hit, as are unions. Service industries get a wake-up call to what's not working. Management needs to reshuffle and new handbooks issued to all staff members with new (but improved?) policies.

Saturn is about to move out of Leo (as the Lion's breathe a major sigh of relief after the past 2.5 years) and into Virgo (as the Virgins hide under their not-as-dust-free-as-it-could-be bed.

Everyone will be affected by the transition of Karmic Saturn into the new sign. I'll have more on this soon, but for now:

Virgos - get working on cleaning up your life, because soon you'll be faced with less choice in the matter. You feel it coming - a need to tighten things up and get back on track.

Time for Change...but where?

So you're feeling it.

The Eclipse has passed and something inside is changing. You know you need to. You feel strongly about it. Or maybe it already has. Maybe you had to kiss goodbye to something or someone, or a way of life.

A chapter is closing whether we like it or not, whether we're ready or not - we ARE ready and this is what this lunar phase is all about.

Where will change find us?

Bills, jobs, money - these are all shadows of the opposite sign of Pisces (Virgo) and since the Full Moon Eclipse is a pull between the two signs and areas of life you'll have to find a way to balance the necessities of life (Virgo) with a belief and a way of living that encompasses more (Pisces) - that there's more to life than the problems we encounter, that may, just maybe the problems are actually spiritual food on our hike to a summit we cannot see, but distinctly remember before we incarnated on this crazy planet.

Take out your chart, find where 4 Degrees Pisces is located - and ring the changes there. Let go. Dissolve. Find a new way. End a chapter. The Full Moon tomorrow packs a punch. That's because it coincides with the Lunar Eclipse, when the Moon is blocked out temporarily from view when the Earth passes in front of the Sun, casting its shadow over the silvery orb.

Virgo Season (achoo!)

Is it just me or did everyone start getting sick when the Sun slipped into Virgo yesterday (Aug 23) - the sign relates to health and work. The two are connected of course - for stress creates illness and work is so often a cause of much of our stress - along with bill-playing, moving home, finding or maintaining relationships and the many other factors of daily human existence.

Now we get to question the foundation of our day-to-day lives - are you getting up too early or too late? Sleeping enough or too much? Eating well or could you do without dairy/sugar/alcohol etc? Do you need a note pinned to the fridge every day to remind you to stretch, blink, breathe?

It's worth checking out some yoga, pilates or meditation practices now - we're likely to need it when we suddenly find a strong wind to get back to work or get back to business. And cleaning? oh yes, Virgo's do love to clean as a form of stress-relief so this Virgo season is a great time to work out what to sweep, dust, polish, throw away, replace.

If it's broken, go ahead and potter around with it. if it's not, try improving it, or leave it well enough alone. Who needs perfection when as good as you can get it, is more than enough?

Work, health, stress, disease, cleaning, germs, organization, scheduling, coworkers and job 'stuff' - yup it's all here this next month.

Stress is a choice reaction to things going on around you.

The Sun is about to leave the Lions behind and hunt out the Virgins to see how they're doing (before Saturn arrives in their sign). Stay tuned for more. Getting along with the USA...

How well do you and your country get along?

For those who live in the United States currently, as I am, and who are wondering how they fit into the bigger picture inside the four walls of this massive (yet surprisingly small) country, here's some fun to be had. In one of my many strange mental wanderings, I pulled up the chart of the USA (Solar Chart) and then laid mine alongside it.

My Mars in Aquarius sits atop the Moon of the States. In a country chart, the Moon signifies the People, the general ethos, the masses. And Mars is the warrior who riles everyone up.

In Aquarius it's all about liberation, freedom and bizarre energy - and as the one who passes along Astrological information to the general population here it seems fitting to find that in the comparison chart.

And in return the USA nurtures my need to act, to push ahead, to get this information out there. Though at times it's a stormy relationship (moon/mars isn't a soft combination) it's all about direct emotional confrontation, and this country has surely done that for me. And I comply gladly - after all, it's not everyone who wants to wake up, and its not often a Cancer who wants their cages rattled in the name of independence. Dependency, maybe..

In Aquarius though, it's all in the name of equality and freedom! And though this country was founded on these principles (born with an Aquarian Moon) it's hardly kept to them as it should have.

As Pluto (death and rebirth) moves into Capricorn in Feb 2008 (structure, government) to return in the USA chart to its birth position also in Capricorn, the country will undergo even greater changes - not least of all within the corridors of power - where power will become synonymous with darkness, for the ultimate purging of that which has been held in place for too long - "fear" and all its branches of control.

The States is Cancer (Apple pie, big appetites/portions/bellies, Mom, Home, Family, Tradition, Patriotism, the Past, Mother fixation - England of course being the "mother" country).

If you're a Pisces, Scorpio or Cancer you can find some solace here, preferably by the water somewhere or else buy a fish tank or go swimming often! The country moves you to feel great things or the depths of despair but at least you're alive (you do so love those big feelings).

Aries, Leo and Sag as fire signs could get rubbed the wrong way often as people are too moody for them or too stuck in their ways or whining a lot. Preferably live somewhere hot or desert like.

Aquarius, Gemini and Libra should find things going their way when the public is ready to move ahead and try new things but be irritated when we go through the usual repeating of the past and the mantra of patriotism. These signs want progress and real freedom, not feigned and fake. Best to live up high or somewhere where the wind blows strong. And finally, the earth signs

Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo should feel they can put roots down here or at least grow some of their long term plans, which is just what they're seeking. Of course there is such a thing as too much stability - and of course that appetite and waist line.

These are really basic to Sun signs, but it's a start. See what you come up with yourself. And by the way - the country was born with Mercury Retrograde - is that why we seem to keep repeating history here or at least talking over the same things on the news again and again and showing the same footage from God Knows When? And boy is it a nation of talkers - is anyone not on their cell phone while driving/shopping/pooping/eating?

The New Moon in Leo on Aug 12 is a timely reminder to Just Keep Loving It (All)!

Leo is usually the sign we can count on to show us how to let our hair down and have a good time. But how can you do that with Saturn the karmic debt-collector hanging over you and with Venus Retrograding in your sign. Leo's had a hard time and it's not over yet, so give them a hug when you see them, they're sure to need it.

Maybe we can help them out under this particular New Moon phase with a reminder to them of their own birthright.

For us all, the New Moon is an opportunity to remember the innocence of childhood, when we weren't yet burned by the hot flames of desire, pummeled by passion and ripped off emotionally by those who let us open up and then 'loved' us by bruising our sensitive hearts and trampling on our fragile egos.

Astrologer Linda Goodman once said that giving is effortless and it's our nature. The apple tree doesn't choose who it bestows its fruit to, it simply must. Without giving, the tree would die.

In our lives it becomes a scorecard game of 'give and withdraw' when we seek only to protect ourselves from hurt once inflicted or suffered (it's the same burn). However this New Moon asks of us to continue giving birth to ideas, games, projects that feel good no matter the consequences to our ego.

Playing is the act of creation - of getting up and doing it and having a go. Of major risk - the audience may boo, the lover may walk, the art be trashed by critics, the haircut receive laughs in the street, the gamble fail, the open heart be swallowed whole, the song flop, the movie script bomb, the idea crash and burn.

Whether you want to be the worlds greatest Lover, or the next Van Gogh, the next Oscar actor, or just loved without feeling like you'll be dumped the moment something goes wrong, we're all presented with a Stage this lunar phase and we're all given the choice to walk on, or hide in the wings watching more fearless souls take to the spotlight. (you're kidding yourself if you believe they're not nervous, they just have no other choice because it's Shine or Die under a Leo New Moon...)

Shining is the only way to to keep the darkness at bay. So if you're swamped by the shadows now, the only choice you have is to continue burning brightly, with no other power source but your own right to be respected, your own need to create and your own vision of how something could be.

Desire is our fuel now, and passion our road map. And while many cultures and religion see 'ego' as something to move beyond, to ignore, repress or destroy (Madonna Leo (whose sun shines in the 12th house of ego submission) sings just this in her song Die Another Day - "I'm gonna destroy my ego" since this is her own life path mission, but try telling that to most Leos whose Sun burns in the other 11 houses of the astrological wheel!) it is not.

Ego is the spark of spiritual light given a backbone and a reason for being (after all what is the point of being a soul unless you're incarnated into the physical world to effect change. It was Ego that led most people to their great works - even acts of compassion because they WANTED to make a difference, and couldn't not.

What in your life do you have NO choice in doing because you have to, must do it, because it IS you?

That's your Leo New Moon phase in action. And your spiritual purpose in action!
It's not about success or failure, it's about Playing the Game.

Help and Hindrances

As always other planets come into the picture to aid or thwart us in this endeavor to make the game more interesting. Mercury (conjunct the New Moon) throws in a lot of new ideas, information, phone calls, emails and conversations that provide you with plenty of opportunities to put yourself on the line and do something fun. Maybe you wind up working at a kids party or dressing up as a character at the local wal-mart. Maybe you get invited to 5 parties. Maybe an agent calls or someone calls you in for an audition and you have to perform. Someone asks you to dance (in front of others, gasp!).

Saturn and Venus have the potential to help us out as they sit alongside the New Moon too, both in Leo. We have the safety net of structure-Saturn that says if you plan and schedule in fun and frivolity, you can't lose. Open up your heart. Enjoy. Make it a pleasurable experience or don't bother doing it at all. Love it or leave it. Venus retrograde says love comes in many packages and you may have to get used to taking the one right now that seems the opposite of what you'd prefer. Appearances deceive now so don't run for the gold when the silver (or lead) may hold more promise in the long run. Real Beauty isn't self-conscious or loud. It's born of inner peace that radiates.

We'll be challenged by the Neptune opposition to this New Moon when we project onto other people the energy of the victim, the drifter, the squandered, the drunk or addicted. it's easy to call others a mess to save our own face. this is ego at its worst. In many ways we're needed now to shine our Leo Lights onto the plight of our friends (Aquarius) or the world at large (society's ills or issues, also Aquarius). Neptune in Aquarius could coincide at this New Moon with more water issues in the world, flooding, drowning, drought or heavy rainfall. Using celebrities (Leo) to aid the downtrodden (Neptune) would be a great use of the power of this period. Where you can, reach out to help, not condemn. How easy it is for the tides of fortune to change.

On the flip side, don't let con artists steal your light. Energy vampires abound now who steal your idea or your thunder, just for attention, to fill the void of their own lives and ego. Stay firm inside your own creative bubble and let friends or strangers lead you astray. They want what you have, but it's not worth sharing if it's only to be wasted on further escapism or victim-like behavior. Help those willing to help themselves and you're still helping.

Of course it would be easier to drift, and take up movie-gazing or drink-binging than it would be to use creative force to produce something. But artists who can stave off this hunger to run away from work, can truly tap into some psychic and spiritual inspiration at this time.


This New Moon reminds us of our inner wound, reflected to us through those around us. Mostly we'll find this to be a social issue, a wound of not quite fitting in with your peers, issues with friends, group problems, social dysfunction and the 'wrongs of society'. Our inner feeling of wanting to be different yet not fitting in, and the judgments we make of others who do not, are all pitfalls at this time. But healing comes now when we open our hearts to the differences that make up the whole.


Finally, we're aided by Pluto this New Moon period in clearing out the last of old worn out beliefs, philosophies. Truth truly is personal, but does your truth give you the power to create or are you suffering from religious or other persecutions based on sin or rules so hard to uphold. Pluto in Sagittarius is on its way out and with it, taking the beliefs from ages past. So let your life show you a new way - or create one for yourself.

Yee-Haa: Jupiter goes Direct (Aug 6)

Reading the last Blog entry you probably wonder if there's any hope of ever getting out of a certain situation, quandary or quagmire. Always, my friends!

Retro periods are 're-thinking, re-evaluating, re-feeling, and re-negotiating our plans and position and the people we're interacting with. Some good news for ya:

Jupiter ends his magnificent tour of Retrograde Land this coming week (Aug 6 to be exact) so in brief:

Aries folk can finally continue their travel plans, and do something with everything they've learned since April 7 (when retro Jupiter began). Clashes with other cultures can finally be over once you come to see that the tests were related to boundaries, and how much your 'knowing' nature has become arrogance. Keep an open mind and opportunities will flood in.

Taurus folk can finally figure out what their money is doing for them (and their partners). Joint accounts, financial entanglements, business deals with others, debt and other issues related to their financial security and personal power can be laid to rest once they realize that more is not necessarily a good thing. Clear the deck, and the slate, and turn over a new page. A transformation is possible now when you see the bigger picture and realize one problem you've been bombarded with since April 7 (when retro Jupiter began) is depleting your power and simply demanding a resolution.

Gemini folk can finally feel free from relationship lessons they've been constantly undergoing since April 7 (when retro Jupiter began). Since some of you wriggled free of commitment you may find it's time now to set your sights higher with the knowledge you now have of what is needed to be above board and fair. Romance blooms once more, and the risks you loved to take seem worth it again - nothing ventured, nothing gained. Virgo folk can finally decide on what to do with their home situation, whether they're staying or going or just trying to run away from what has become a stagnant situation that's been squeezing the fun out of your personal life since April 7 (when retro Jupiter began). Making space can be done in many ways now, whether it's emptying a room or closet of stuff you no longer need. Since your soul needs fresh air, you may need to take your home on the road, or at least open the windows and decide what will give you back your sense of the world being a much bigger place than just the same four walls and outlook.

Libra folk can finally make important decisions without feeling they'll make a blunder without the right information. Tact may have gone out the window when you decided you'd say how you feel regardless of anyone else's feelings. You can't grow in all directions at once, so progress has been limited to stop you from spreading your energies too thin. That is growth enough.

Capricorn folk can finally relieve tension in their souls by feeling the answer to some of the riddles that have plagued them since April 7 (when retro Jupiter began) when irrational fears were blown out of proportion. Cleaning out unconscious remnants of old dreams, old beliefs and old knowledge was the only way to emptying yourself to be refilled with new and more wondrous visions that give you true freedom not the illusion of it. Psychic powers are back at full power now, but only because you've been forced to spent more time going inside asking yourself questions and seeking answers from your own spirit, rather than adventure out into the world for a book, conversation, or piece of insight or advice that comes from somewhere else other than your own heart and soul. Now, the opportunity to feel more connected to everything around you, is the gift of true faith in a benevolent force.

Aquarius folk can finally focus on their future goals, quests and visions and not feel as overwhelmed with the bigger picture of their plans since April 7 (when retro Jupiter began). Now, society isn't as much a roadblock to freedom and fun but a tool you can use to gain greater insight and also share what you know to add to the pool of knowledge already out there. Where friends were once a pain in the butt, they now are opportunities for you - as each person holds a key to a greater wealth than you'd have found should you have continued on your path alone. You don't have all the pieces of the jigsaw, and even if you are close to it, you'll need help in putting it together. Now, a bold step, confidence and a way ahead that's totally you (without any advice or pointing fingers from others around you) is the way to go - you were born to break protocol and now's your chance.

Pisces folk can finally feel as though they're on top of things and in control again, especially when it comes to their career objective, which may have seemed to have been held up or not as big as your instincts told you they could be since April 7 (when retro Jupiter began). Now, the horizon opens and you can cast yourself as far and wide as you want, it's all a matter of personal choice, since you're the only one in charge now. Self confidence helps when you realize that all roadblocks to your dream have been held in place because, quite simply, it wasn't your Dream but someone elses rules you were living by. You have your own truth now, and it's a chance to live it, and show the world how to walk your walk and talk your talk and show what you know, all the while staying open to taking new pathways to the summit. Five Planets Retrograde (and you wondered why you felt crazy)

Why do some things not seem to take off right now? How come people are acting weird? Why won't the deal go through NOW?! Why are you still waiting to hear back? When will your energy pick up so you'll feel able to conquer the world again? Why is Jack not understanding you and how come you see to be crossing wires with Jill? Is it really over? How come the new beginning you've been waiting for seems more of a myth than a reality in the making? Is the Law of Attraction a load of nonsense because clearly, CLEARLY nothing is happening?

Phew.

We have 5 planets currently retrograde. Relax. Most of us right now are in some way wondering if we should check out or get beamed up. Retro planets pull us back to deal with things differently, our usual "methods" don't work - and in such an 'external' world oriented society, if we seek results now, we'll always feel we're falling short of the mark, or success as we like to call it.

Success, right now, could actually be the entire crumbling of your best laid plans. Escaping something that ends without your explicit consent could be the saving grace of your life right now. But would you know it?

If we stick with the Universal Law that all is as it should be at any given moment and that, yes, it can change if we want it to and if we choose to consciously make our next step towards a more improved version of life, then all will work out well. It always, does...in the end.

So if it's not great right now, it's not the end. Got it?

Venus: (affecting most strongly those with Libra or Taurus strong in their charts but still all of us in various ways): Money matters are mixed up, we're spending more than we mean to, don't have enough, or suddenly the bottom seems to drop out of our world, bank account or investment schemes. What we value turns sour, or we don't even know what we love anymore. And let's not talk about relationships - how the hell can you rely on anyone right now to date, share with or even to show up on time. Is being fair enough when you feel you're getting a bum deal yourself?

Jupiter (affecting most strongly those with Sagittarius or Pisces strong in their charts but still all of us in various ways): Growth in any particular direction seems so slow, or not happening at all. Travel plans seem to take up even more time (can't people just FLOW these days?!) And all the red tape and laws, and regulations. Argh! You're either biting off more than you can chew or you're not being offered enough opportunity to feel free and energized. Life becomes more resitting an exam than it does an adventure. You're going too far left or too far right or the problems are exaggerated and you feel totally stifled. Do you take a risk and see or wait until you get a green light...if ever?

Uranus (affecting most strongly those with Aquarius or Pisces strong in their charts but still all of us in various ways): No solid ground. Things keep changing or NOT changing enough! You're so intent on being yourself than you wind up pushing the envelope too far and suddenly it's signed, sealed and delivered, to the wrong address. Erratic mood swings or just a sense that it all may change direction in the blink of an eye make it a period when the only thing that's certain is uncertainty. Have you lost your mind or is the world insane? or both? And friendship - how can you rely on anyone when they are going through the same shifts? Are you really free or just running in circles fighting all things that threaten to trap you or keep you tied to a life you didn't choose to live?

Neptune (affecting most strongly those with Aquarius or Pisces strong in their charts but still all of us in various ways): How do you break the addiction to run away from it all, take a pill, down a vodka or get sucked into TV land, on the trail of the next orgasm or some other self-destructive path that, though it doesn't bring peace, gives you a way to waste your time and avoid the ugly parts of life? Is being sensitive a crime? How can you feel connected to it all, when you're surrounded by so much that doesn't make sense? Should you quit and jack it all in, or "go with the flow" (or are you headed for a waterfall? Can you really trust "the universe" or is it all a great way to say 'we're lost and couldn't be bothered to make a map'? Helping out is all well and good but how can you help anyone when you yourself are paddling in hot water? Is doing nothing more than enough or much too little?

Pluto: (affecting most strongly those with Sagittarius or Scorpio strong in their charts but still all of us in various ways). How do you really kill of a part of your life? Don't monsters raise their heads at the end of each horror film again..and again? Is the night of your soul really over? Doesn't the light of morning only promise yet another nighttime? Can you trust anyone else when people are only out for themselves? Are you being destructive or is it time to end one chapter for good? Are you insecurities getting in the way of true intimacy or have you just, quite simply, had enough? How can you master your lower emotions when life constantly pulls you back to dealing with the same old garbage? Is Death even the final answer, when what was one complete and gone, is now here once more. Is this deja-vu or am I stuck in Hell?! Help!

Okay so these sound dire at times, but in many ways we may all feel we're on Repeat Mode. And so we are. The planetary energies right now are making it IMPOSSIBLE (or at least damned hard) in not dealing with the reality of who we are inside. The more pain we feel now is in proportion to how much we are fighting the tides we have set in motion. Sometimes we need to let life catch up to us, and that's what this period is all about.

Relax. Breathe. It's not life or death? We ARE making progress. It IS about self love first. We're still connected, even though the road ahead is foggy. We are freeing ourselves each time we say Yes to what we want and NO to what feels heavy. We are reclaiming our power whenever we question something, because we always have a choice in how to respond to life's events.

Life has no success barometer we can see - it's based inside. Even on bad days when we feel like life is pointless, we can be safe in the knowledge that those who make a single step in a direction more suited to what they want (I call it the constant-improvement path) are always supported by a benevolent force that wants us all to grow, unite, and evolve and expand. Nature "works". It needs no steering wheel, just the guiding hand of a cosmic cycle and the willingness of all things - birds, grass, trees and animals, to participate.

Cycles work when we work with them.

Wherever you are on yours, remember not to judge from what you see outside, but by what you feel within.
