Mercury is How we think, What we Think about and thus our Personal Perception of the world.

Steer differently with your mind, says Mercury Retrograde. (This one ends on May 3rd). Another chance to nip Faulty Thinking and repair Screwy Wiring, in the programs we run in our heads.

One theory I find interesting is that when a planet if Retrograde, it could be expressing through the secondary ruler. Mercury expresses through Gemini ways. Seeking and translating and transferring things or info. When retro, (inverted) Mercury thus expresses through Virgo, it's secondary ruler. So suddenly information is processed differently, more methodically, more critically, with more discernment. [Venus would  express through Taurus means (appreciating, enjoying) while retro, she would express through Libra means (evaluating relationships)]. 

Mercury Retrograde is now in Aries.

That was quick. Yesterday's news is already old. What I posted about Taurus themes, has shifted. It's still about self-worth, since we began this Retrograde in Taurus, but it's now about our very personal spheres: who we are and what we want. We're about to take things highly personal again, for good reason.

Mercury has retreated back into Aries, so it's worth a read of this FB post on the curses of Mercury in Aries from last year, so you're forewarned and (dare I say it) forearmed...

March 30 2016: Mercury in Aries

Mercury is now in Aries. People talk faster. People listen slower. The pitter-patter of waiting & tired feet is obvious at checkout lines. Listen for people sighing more (likely from annoyance), or they'll "huff and puff and [threaten to] blow your house down" (or at least throw you a few choice words). But it's mostly Hot Under The Collar pressure-relief. Mental agitation is common. But so too are *Great New Ideas* that come fast and furious and are gone just as quick ...so be sure to act on them or note them down.

No more mental-wallowing in the waters of Pisces. Our minds and conversations are now turned fully towards: things we are angry about, swearing or telling someone off, getting something started, our energy - of lack thereof, ourselves (me, myself and I!), personal boundaries, MY stuff versus yours, speed (watch for red lights and tickets), childlike fun, games & sports and competition...

When your mind is irritated, angry or impatient you're likely to wind up bumping yourself. Instead, move swiftly (yet carefully lest you knock your head) on to something you CAN control/manage or handle... then go back to the troubling issue with Fresh Eyes...

The name of this post comes not from the news of Mercury Retrograde in Aries, at 29 degrees. But from angry Mars (Aries planet) now in Gemini (Mercury's sign) stirring up brain activity, turning up the cerebral testosterone and heating up minds and mouths. And...

The planet of War and Conflict is squared Humaniry's Lunar Nodes: Our cosmic slippery South - back, into the shadows of the unconscious past. Or forward, North bound, into the dawning light of a new way of being.

Mars square the nodes suggests an angry karmic jam, in which we may have to seemingly fight out way out (in Gemini it seems the war is in our heads). Action is called for (Mars is DOING). Our HEAD and our HANDS need to work together. Or else. No sitting stifling, for long. Sooner or later, minds are electrified into action when enough Mars frustration and trapped-desire-energy has built.

Right now, watch for Wars of Words. What is said, is attacked. How it was said. People bicker. Twitter is no doubt about to blow up again. In Gemini, could there be some duplicity and double-speak? You betcha. Two meanings to things said? Oh yeah.A lot unsaid, of course. Mars in Gemini is the reader and writer who rushes. The person ever-ready to explode and argue. People want to get the last word, even if it's not in their best interests.

Mars square the nodes is a choice to APPLY OUR MENTAL (Gemini) DESIRES (Mars) AND MENTAL (Gemini) ASSERTIVE FOCUS AND DRIVE (Mars) either TOWARDS USELESS PURSUITS  (south Node in Pisces) or TOWARDS PURPOSEFUL CONSTRUCTIVE SOLUTIONS to pressing problems (north node in Virgo).

The low side: 

wasteful wars. childish conflict. regretted words. Hasty ill-timed decisions.

The bright side: 

fast flow of info, multiple questions asked and answered, no more deliberations or delays, 

speedy decisions at last, mental dexterity.

Face it, we all have problems. The north node is in Virgo for us all. WE ALL HAVE TO WAKE UP AND CLEAN UP. We ALL have to repair or replace broken merchandise. Repair ourselves when we're sick.  Reach for a healthier, more sober way of living, without losing ourselves to emotional desolation or self-abandonment. All actions are now led first and foremost by choices first made in our minds. The current place of war. That's not a great thing. But drive and ambition to effect change in things that aren't working, is palpable. Frustration energizes our minds into deliberate action.

Even in war zones, healthy decisions and choices can be made and acted upon. Choosing to not act is still a choice, but you have to now weigh up non-action is keeping you stuck.

Mars in Gemini is a quick learner. This could really get you ahead now. Whatever is daunting to you, may not be as hard if you were forced to suddenly have to learn. So try a new skill. Push yourself, (mars) with some positive affirmations, held firmly in mind (Gemini). Better yet, write down your Desire and Read It Every Day. 

Mars-Gemini is the Powerful Force and Power of Words Written or Spoken.

Boredom (a dreaded Gemini downfall) leads to Mars aggression now. Not being heard. Not being listened to. Being ignored. Being beaten down by nasty words. Being made to look stupid.

Moving too fast. Be warned.

Caffeine, sugar, Adderall, crystal meth. "Speeding" in this article refers to the desire to increase the heart rate, to be amped up. It also relates to traffic tickets and being pulled over. Wanting to speed up is a very common choice for many, in a wearied world and still expected/pushed to hurry. What's better than apathy, boredom, depression for many? To be Driven. Ballsy. Aggressive. Pushy. Multiple projects. Lots on the go. Rushing from here to there. Competing. Conquering. Dominating. This is the alignment of Uppers, all behaviors, and drugs that increase testosterone and up the likelihood of frustration, anger, conflict, violence and overkill. That goes for too much sugar and caffeine too!

Look around. People are either playing games on their phones to dispell stress, or frantically pecking at keys in text message arguments. Please remember, to Slow Down and Breathe, right now. 

Sleight of hand. Mars in Gemini could be the "look over THERE while this more important thing I want you to miss goes on over here..." tactic used by all magicians, and many media outlets.

Stay curious, but retain the facts until you have a chance to hear the story again. Chances are high, there will be a discrepancy at play. Hard to spot when you're rushing. And that's part of the plan, for those trying to cause conflict as a deceitful distraction.

This is a MULTITASKER alignment, for better or worse. It's like one relentless ongoing Google Search. Useless facts, "about to's", bickering, waste of words, hot air or useful info. Contradictory details. A myriad of unrelated pieces of an incomplete jigsaw picture.

This period could agitate mental illness, as Mercury retro in Aries combined with Mars into Gemini speeds up the mind and the chances of agitation and anger are higher. Gemini is the inner tennis match between the hemispheres, ideas, options, opinions and perhaps moods and mindsets. We may all be lost to the demons of mental anguish and imbalance at certain times during this Cycle, experiencing a sort of cognitive dissonance, as we hold two thoughts at once, sometimes at complete odds with other. The love-hate, push-pull black and white of bi-polarity.  We may all feel a little unstable and changeable under these conditions, so the planets advise us to protect our minds by monitoring our desires and trapped energies so that we can re-direct them accordingly. When irritable, change your focus and your mindset follows. Don't spin your wheels or words. No need.

IS THE INFO USEFUL? Will this agitate my mind or help me to focus clearly on what I desire?

Ask these questions regularly as a check-in to avoid spinning mental wheels and draining your energies and efforts.

WILL IT MOVE THE STORY OR CONVERSATION FORWARD?

Is there a solution being offered or merely a new repackaging of the problem?

Always seek improvement, right now. However small. 

Prevailing energies are tricky. fickle. fidgety,, changeable. unstable. 

The practical way forward through the questions and questionable leads us to an ongoing choice: 

South to Pisces fading, or North to Virgo Improving. 

As always, our own Free Will. The Nodes are about to leave these signs, and the results will be shortly in, on how well we did with these Lessons.

Moving under Mercury Retrograde in Cancer...

Mercury is Retrograde in Cancer (the 'Home' sign) and Neptune is visiting my Home - just entering my 4th House (the House of the Home). Already the tide is dissolving the foundations. What foundations? They were already taken by the fire of May 2013! Born with a Pisces Sun and Mercury in the 4th, square Neptune you'd think my home would be swallowed up by the ocean, not burned to the ground. But the theme remains the same - intangible outer security creates the necessity for tangible inner security. And that's a tough one.

Nice in theory, rough as hell in practice.

The Universe works in mysterious ways, and Neptune/Pisces energy teaches us one thing above all - sometimes you can fight the tide (like those fish that swim upstream) or you can let it carry you.

As "fate" steps in once more, I have to relocate again. I went back and calculated it (Mercury Retrograde in Cancer is THE "Memory Lane" phase) and in my going-on-13 years in the USA, I've moved 24 times! Maybe I'll write a book on the many reasons why (the genre will be mixed - adventure/horror/comedy).

Now, as the Neptune tide turns (about to go retrograde in my 4th, ruling my 4th), a marijuana grower and her son moved in (not that I had a complaint about that) and I'm having to move out. I like to see it as another Upgrade, a sign that my wings are ready again to take another flight.

I have to move by July 1 so Weekly Scopes are on hold - but the ones up are still relevant as Mercury Retrograde lasts until then.

My natal 4th House Sun in Pisces with Mercury, squared by Neptune in Sagittarius has always been a curious alignment to be born under. The way I describe it: picture a man standing on an island of his own, formed after a giant earthquake has cracked away at the land. He's floating away but he's reaching, reaching for what looks like security and safety of the gang of people across the other side, physical land, or physical connection, of family and a sense of belonging, of safety. Continental Drift of the Emotional Kind.

Safety, Security, Roots - these concepts are very personal to me and yet foreign in many areas (I live in the emotional waters of Pisces in the watery 4th House of human emotions and our Soul). They often elude me in all areas but my work. In the uncertainty and in the unknown, in the emotional and in the soul, I find the safety, security and roots more earthy signs find just by being here, on Planet Earth. My clients allow themselves to drown with me, only to discover those little forgotten pearls and reminders from the bottom of their own inner world.

 Sometimes  - a lot of times, when you're born under the alignments I myself were - you have nothing left but to stand (or lie down) and surrender. Because the Universe can take what it wants from you, at any moment, on the way to giving you what you truly want. If you can let it go. Hard to believe, huh? But then my Neptune in Sagittarius is a spiritual call to Faith and to the Journey, after all.

There's always the other side to Neptune and Pisces energy. The part of me that wants to 'check out'. Beam up up! (If I'm taken by aliens - no doubt my real family - you'll know why). But that's the same part that enables me to 'tune in' to other realms of energy.We all carry a curse and a blessing, two sides of the same coin. The astrological hand we were dealt. I continue to do my Best, as I hope you are, in trying to Stay in your Light, Stand in your Strength, Be Proud of your Effort and Salute your Soul's Balls (whether you're male or female in this incarnation) in deciding to come here

I'll check in when I can, between finding a new place to call "home" and when there's something going on we should all know about.

The Angels & Demons of the Scorpio Solar Eclipse (Nov 3)

The Solar Eclipse at 11 degrees Scorpio, (4;49am PST) occurs at the North Node, thus opposes (challenges) the South Node - our place of comfort and our absolute stubborn resistance to letting it change, evolve, or die.

Thus the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio is simply another "opportunity" to do some spiritual housekeeping - which inevitably means having our physical lives rearranged accordingly as we clean out the cobwebs, raise the dead spirits of our ancestral pain and pry open the locked trunks and blocked closets containing our secrets, shames or other assorted skeletons.

If you don't - someone else will.

Life invades and violates us sometimes during these Eclipses. Or so it would seem. But the true message of a Solar Eclipse in Scorpio is to allow for the eclipsing of your sense of self, your confidence in yourself, or your acceptance of yourself, so that you may gain these very same things - your very sense of self, new confidence and a stronger acceptance of yourself, and the process called Life.
What is taken away is valued all the more.

That's how Eclipses work.

They change the light, the affect the interplay of light and dark on the planet. The Sun doesn't want to be eclipsed. it wants to share the honor of our Bright Light, our Ego, our Inner Child. But wait, when the light goes out is when we truly get to understand, acknowledge what it is when we're suddenly blinded by its brightness once again. We know the Light, through the Dark sometimes.

Since the Solar Eclipse is in Scorpio we can safely assume this means an Ego-Death of some form as the necessary step forward in our spiritual evolution. But we do have Angels on our sides  for the road ahead (we'll get to the demons).

We have a fixation on the Dark Side (notice the proliferation of Zombie and Vampire), or we're Fighting it every which way we can. Scorpio always takes sides. It's the nature of the Beast, excuse the pun. Angels often come disguised, but so too do the Demons.

Saturn, the steely one who reminds us that Time reveals all because nothing stands up to time. Saturn is his own Grim Reaper only he measures it, he doesn't rape us of it, like Pluto. Saturn Angels are the life experiences disguised as painful barriers and hurdles. They test you. They wear you down to see what you're made of. They feel like a hangover. They leave lasting impressions and you say I MADE IT and no one can take that from you. (Scorpios take note especially since Saturn's been in your Sign so you are earning your spiritual stripes right now). Saturn demons are the feelings of failure and quitting under the heavy load of the same painful barriers and hurdles. Either you push on or you give up. Sink or Swim. Saturn demons like to drag you under.

Mercury Retrograde honors up with his presence in Scorpio too so that we have no choice but to retrace our steps so that a new wiring can be created in our brains of a new way, a new possibility. A new way this can play out - finally? But thoughts are just thoughts so could we just simply be repeating mental programming and analysing it in a replay of the exact same energy? Loops of experience, loops of thought and further loops of experience. Can we break the spell? Yes with commitment and focus (Mercury/Saturn). It won't be easy. Nothing worthwhile is. It's a tough world and sometimes we see it's harsher, colder, more sober, starker and darker version. That's the Scorpio stellium. A feeling of unsafety, or things falling apart. Of forced change. Or plain and simple Trauma. Mercury Retrograde Angels however arrive in the form of conversations that get to the very bone when it comes to raw, honest feeling and the sharing of unimaginable passions and pains. Mercury Retrograde Angels are experiences designed to help us to review our pain so that we can find some buried (Scorpio) gold amongst the dirt of destruction. Some new ideas on healing or getting stronger or gaining more power. Sometimes you have to hurt to grow stronger.

Demons abound during these times. Psychic vampires, sexual demons, reptilian businessmen and who knows what other assorted hellish beings may be walking around. In our houses, in our personal spaces. Or is it all just in our heads? After all Mercury is retrograde and what we see outside is a physical representation of our spiritual current place in our evolution and experience. You get to see where your head is, or where it goes sometimes. You get to rewire it. Mercury Retrogrades I have come to understand as cosmic strokes - affecting our brains, giving them a chance to be rewired and reprogrammed with better material. Mercury Retrograde Demons (remember Scorpio is the true meeting of the Living with the Underworld Realm of Pluto) are those thoughts that plague us, for the simple pleasure they have in making us feel hooked on feeling lousy.  Are we being tested, could we be surrounded by snakes? Replaying pain is a form of post traumatic torture for all of us. Suspicion is our enemy, while in the past may have been our rescuer. You can never quite tell under this Eclipse. The light changes suddenly and what you thought was real, has changed. Mercury Retrograde Demons try to keep you trapped in a painful past but inevitably help you wise you up to where you burned your hand on the ring that way last time.

The meeting of the Sun and Moon heralds a potential deepening commitment to diving into your heart, into your mind and into your soul to find a purpose, passion and a power within you. Whatever that is. We're all called to walk through the Spiritual Metal Detector: anything that is unnecessary for the road ahead from this point on (a job, a relationship, an attachment, a person, a situation) could leave us, as the cosmos to come to remind you that leaves fall off trees each year to make way for the seedsthat will become next year's blossom.

 Change has a purpose. And you're ready for it. That's the Scorpio North Node Eclipse, in a nutshell. You just have to Act Powerful, thus evoking the natural magician within you (Scorpio) and facing life will a steely resilience - at least for now.

Anticipate some final farewells. Goodbyes are inevitable during true change. But also some re-connections with loved ones who have passed over with a message here, a signal there of their presence since Mercury is retrograde. Or in the form of getting ourselves out of Mental Hell due to injuries suffered on life's thorny path.  Mercury Retro in Scorpio leads us into the labyrinth of the mind but doesn't promise a way out unless we seek it in New Thinking (or the re-thinking of the old in new ways). What you focus on grows. That's the bummer sometimes. There are also re-connections though, old deaths rise up again - you think its gone then IT'S BACK! A recreating of things, sometimes in the image of of their past selves, but also of new ways, means and abilities. We get to try on a new hat and see how it feels.

People can change. People are changing. Because lives are changing. Daily.
And we change with our circumstances, as it should be.
"Accelerated change" always has the same feeling, but it quite simply means more
is happening in a shorter space of time.

When Death comes knocking, honor that which has passed,

and turn again to face Life, because deep down, as a wise

Scorpio once told me, "those who are yours 

never truly leave you". 

You have to say goodbye to one thing in order to roll out the welcome mat for something new. Old energies return in new packages, and new energies can spring from the roots of old energies. Anything is possible now. Passion, Purpose and Power are needed to face the fear and surrender control, if only for a Moment.

Mercury is Direct...but....

Mercury, the planet people love to blame for their computer crashes, internet irritations, miscommunications and other assorted annoyances, is no longer Retrograde. It's what's called (in the biz) 'Direct' right now, meaning it's no longer likely to manifest as the Trickster and hound you with unfinished business and delays and frustrations.

Manifestations I saw during its retrograde period in Taurus (sign of earth, property, money, value, manifestation, practical matters): ATM machines all going down, Best Buy (a store that sells mostly Mercury artifacts) had a power outage, friends had to call the bank for charges that didn't make sense on their account, overdraft fees from nowhere, lost objects turning up once more (whilst some remain hidden), people revisiting old neighborhoods, moving back to places they have been before, old health issues flaring up again, repeated phone calls made and no messages back (the same goes for emails), things lost in the mail...and I am sure many more personal ones I'll remember after I hit "POST".

SO Mercury is no longer Retrograde. Many will be relieved. However....Mercury won't reach the point in the zodiac it was at before it turned Retro, until around May 28 -so you may have to wait until then to feel that you're totally out of the woods, in the clear, ready to storm ahead and able to pick up where you left off etc.

In the meantime, whatever reversal you may experience, embrace it as a gift. Wherever you change your mind, see it as a free-will blessing, and whatever you experienced in the past 3 weeks, see it as a lesson. so you'll be better equipped to handle anything similar down the line.

Mercury won't go retrograde again until August 20th. I'll help you navigate through that nearer the time.

Sep 29: Mercury finally goes Direct

For all of you wondering when this strange phase ends - of re-visiting the past (dreaming of people you once knew, running into them again, trying to reconnect with them, covering old ground, losing your keys and wallet, having computer and phone issues, finding your car needs fixing, being stuck in traffic, misreading something, being entangled in conversations where meaning is lost and you're confused, waiting for people to call or email or get in touch)....

...well it irons itself out after Mercury goes Direct on Sep 29. You may have to wait until Mercury leaves its shadow period which is Oct 14, when you'll see real progress in these areas.

Remember, decisions made now may be reversed when Mercury goes direct so keep an open mind and remain as open and fluid as you can. Revisit the past, lay some things to rest, re-wire your head and then take a time out.

Broken Record? Mercury Retrograde Myth-busting!

Has your CD player gone gimpy, your DVD machine dead, our cell glitchy and your computer frozen?

Chances are somewhere your electrically operated machinery are being a bit funky. It seems inevitable during Mercury Retrograde for many of us, but don't worry, you're not doomed to be plagued with it forever. it's all a way to get you to Slow The Hell Down, remember?

I'm a firm believer that Merc Retro is a gift, for a fast-paced world rushing nowhere. Let things catch up. If something doesn't work, it's a sign to try a new approach. Re-vision.

Mercury Retrogrades Soon...

To give you a heads-up we have another slowing down, reviewing period, in order to let life catch up with us. Mercury retrogrades on Sep 24 at 22 Degrees Libra.

We're already in the shadow of retrograde which means you may be feeling some of the usual shifts - forgetfulness, appointments changed or canceled, plans re-drawn, finding lost objects, coming across old friends/flames, and generally a feeling of having to retrace steps or go back over old ground.

Stay tuned for more on this, for now - wrap up as much as you can under this Full Moon phase, and prepare to slow down and backtrack to double check your progress soon.
