Reactions and Relationships: The Libra Full Moon (March 27)

Aries is about the Self, Libra (it's opposing sign) is about the Other.

Therefore the Full Moon in Libra (March 27) is about the individual versus the relationship. Full Moons spread out energy and create synergy or teamwork (or opposition!) between two signs, at a time each month when we really need it. Balance is key (another Libra theme) so this could be one of the most important Full Moons this year.

Right now we have a truckload of energy in Aries (see the Full Moon Solar Chart above) which could make us all a lot more selfish, self-driven, interested in fulfilling our own needs only. The Libra Full Moon spotlights the relationships in our lives to help spread  out some of this self-centered energy.

The United States Supreme Court (a Libra institution - just look at the symbol for Libra - the Scales of Justice) is, right now, looking at the Gay Marriage issue (Libra relates to all partnerships) which won't go away. The theme is the right to marry (Libra). Those opposing this could be seen by this Full Moon's opposite to Venus the planet ruling Libra itself, in Aries the sign of its Fall (the sign opposite to where it belongs).

We all feel out of sorts these days and relationships continue to throw up all sorts of obstacles. But the analysis of the Full Moon Chart is simple: it's all about Love. when people are the most unlovable, is the time when they need love the most.  We often know what real love is in the face of its denial or lack.
We're either moving with the flow of Love now or we are building barriers and denying its presence in our life.
Are you keeping love out or allowing it into your heart?

The truth is, Love is always present. We are Love. We're just moving through situations that reflect our own lack of self-love back to us. Learning how to love better. Everything playing out in the larger world now is merely a shadow of what is going on within our own minds. Even if you're in the most difficult of situations can you love yourself more and become a more loving and lovable person?

This Full Moon:

Full Moon opposing Sun: Get your ego out of the way or risk having your own reflected back to you via other people who are pushy, domineering, aggressive and me-me-me oriented. Avoid extreme emotional reactions and DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY. Put your personal stamp on your home environment - put up new artwork (your own would be ideal). Brighten up your space - open curtains, windows - let the light in!

Full Moon opposing Venus: We all need relationship to grow. Call up someone and get their opinion. Offer to be a sounding board (or shoulder to cry on) for someone else. Stop pushing love away or sabotaging your partnerships due to a lack of self-worth. Avoid impulsive spending to lift low spirits. Love yourself enough to allow others their emotional reactions without being pulled in. Beauty your home to ground this energy.

Full Moon opposing Mars:  Angry reactions don't help matters. Yet repress your anger and irritability and it may just 'come at you' via others. Get physical to burn off excess emotional energy.  Realize that pushing against anything will be reflected back to you by even greater resistance and pushing.

Full Moon opposing Uranus: Sometimes you just need a little space to breathe and see things from a new perspective. Otherwise you wind up taking your momentary feelings and thinking they are everything. Feelings always blow over. Change your routine! Sometimes that's all that's needed to give your life a breath of fresh air. If not, Change finds you via the back door and upsets all your comfort zones. Embrace the unknown - it teaches you more about yourself. re-arrange furniture at home, create a new home environment!

Full Moon square Pluto: You have to purge icky feelings. How? by realizing any reaction is an attachment and you came to the physical world to learn to release attachments! Why? Because ultimately you'll lose everything and everyone. That's a wake-up call, right? Experience a series of Emotional Deaths now, and you'll be better off. What is left behind when all reactions have cooled, is the real stuff. The rest was just an unhealthy hook keeping you chained to something you felt you needed but didn't. Great time to ditch bad habits. It's time to destroy any old modes of selfishness (Aries) and looking to anyone else for a sense of that self (Libra).Throw our garbage at home and anything you no longer need, wear, value. Fix broken stuff or chuck it out! Intense feelings now usually stem from past issues, old deep wounds and past-life stuff you're still dragging around. Realize the Present is just the trigger and most likely, the issue is not 'out there' but something deep within that needs your love, acceptance and ultimately, releasing.

Full Moon trine Juno (asteroid of marriage and equality): The lighthouse amidst the storm. A Libra Full Moon supported by Juno reinforces the theme that Love, Marriage, Agreement, Compromise, Cooperation are all given the green light. Just because conflict exists doesn't mean things are wrong. We learn through OPPOSITION (the ultimate theme of a Full Moon) and we learn about ourselves (Aries) through what we face in the reflection  of the Other (Libra).

We need the others in our lives so avoid isolation. Ask for help. Be there for others. Hash it out. Enter the ring, then take a break when the bell rings. Draw boundaries but feel free to erase or change them. Know that ultimately, how you feel about something does not reflect the truth of the situation.

Emotions are fickle things, but Love is eternal.

Confrontational Cooperation: The Libra Full Moon

Every War is a Tug of War.

Since war implies conflict you can't have one unless one side is battling against another side.

They're the folk who will be excited with the Libra Full Moon on March 21 (for two weeks).

Libra is the midway sign in the Astrological Circle, implying a middle ground, a dividing line. "Me" and "you" for instance. Libra is the sign of partnership (we know the rumor about single Libras and their inevitable depression).

Since Full Moons are a completion, a release and a peak emotional time, and Libra is the sign of the "other", then it's a sure sign of an emotional tug of war in some area of our lives.

Is a relationship about to change? They always are. Will it end? That depends on many factors. What is certain is that when one end releases their end of the rope/bargain/deal the game is up.

Since every fight is a fight with ourselves (nobly brought to us by an outside who plays their role with amazing dexterity to help us "get through it", and every "other" (friend, lover, parent, boss, stranger, enemy, business client) is "us" (us in another form), then this is a funny old time. We get to incestuously play off with another in either a fun and feisty way, or buy into the illusion that there is a "me" versus "them" situation to fight, in which case we're lost chasing illusions.

Remember, as long as we take one side (I'm good, she's bad, I'm right, he's wrong, I am a happy person, they are sad people) you automatically must bring in its polar opposite to balance out. Nature loves balance. Night/Day, Dry/Wet, Hot/Cold, Male/Female. Play one side, you bring someone in, somewhere, to play its opposite. You have to. You can't help but. It's the Nature and Law of this 3-D physical dimension on Earth.

The Polarity Dance on Earth has always been a fun one, but it's time is waning. As the Full Moon shines in this particular Libra phase, we're tested on how fulfilled we are with the people we're bringing in - but it goes deeper, how fulfilled we are in ourselves, is determined by how much peace we bring in from the outside (in the form of helpful people) or how much conflict we bring in (because we're torn and divided inside).

I know I chase these demons daily (I was born with my North Node ((the lesson I'm meant to learn and the sign I'm meant to become more like)) in Libra - and the issue of manners, etiquette, politeness and fairness all weigh heavily on my karmic path.

To claim we're fully at peace would be a pretty amazing and surprising thing to say these days. It's not impossible, but I guess that most of us are in conflict with at least one person, situation, event or encounter.

Getting off the see-saw, letting go of the rope, ends the game. Remember that, the next conflict you are Just about to step into. Even the one with yourself "is it right to do A, should I have said this instead, should I open Door 1 or Door 5, should I stay or go etc etc. Give up the indecision. When you choose, reality adjusts around your decision and opens up new doors. But you must decide. And be happy standing by your decision or standard set.

What happens now will help you work out which partnerships you want and which you don't. They're all helpful (in aiding you to come to some sort of truce or resolution inside) but which ones are you enjoying? After all, I believe the quest for enlightenment, should be a fun one.

Growth doesn't HAVE to be painful!

This Full Moon has a few planetary archetypes hammering it, or clashing with its usual energy. We have Mars, the planet of initiation and aggravation squaring off against the Full Moon and we also have Pluto, the total destroyer and reformer in defiant opposition to Mars as well as squaring the Full Moon).

This is all astro-speak for a time when Anger would be a most likely manifestation. How many people are TRULY working on clearing up their inside "crap"? How many people are truly wanting to open their eyes to their part to play in all conflicts going on around them, in some shape or form? How many people are trying to overcome their lower desires (Mars) and reach for a higher transmutation of those energies, in the cauldron of alchemical change (Pluto)? I wonder.

For everyone, whether the relationship issues are small or large, it's ALL ABOUT US. It's deeply personal. You choose whether to stop or go. You can cut someone off if it's unhealthy or you can sign a new contract because you want to grow with someone. We're dancing with many partners and whoever said we only have one soul-mate, is mistaken.

Each person we meet on the path is a soul-mate. Whether we're single or committed to someone, we're all in relationship - with life, with pets, with strangers, with lovers, with family, with friends. No one is alone. Even the relationship with our mind is a strong and lifelong union. Each person outside of ourselves though, is a bud who's here to help us get closer to ourselves, through the intimate moments spent with another.

Whether we choose to spend most moments locked in an embrace of conflict, or an embrace of mutual respect and sharing, it's a personal choice only we can make.

Since you can never escape the Art of Sharing:

Who are you dancing with
and why?

Anger, Sex & Yourself: Aries Full Moon

How do you maintain yourself and your own Personal Identity while in a relationship? This can be a friendship, a romantic partnership, a business deal or any other type of human interaction. Where does the WE factor end and the ME factor begin?

That's the question we all have to ask during this Aries Full Moon (Oct 11). Aries relates to Selfhood - who we are outside of anyone else. Our desires. Our wants. Our needs. Me and I.

How do you express anger? That's a huge theme that is sure to pop up now. When your personal needs are not met (or you're overlooked or under appreciated) and your personal desires are thwarted, you get angry. This Full Moon, you're being urged to look at YOU, and see if you're overstepping boundaries. Are you over-pushing your own agenda or are you losing yourself and your own identity due to the influence of and interaction with other people in your life? Can balance be restore oo you need to come out fighting for your personal rights?

My South Node is in Aries so my prior lives were laden with Aries themes. I've had my fair share of conflict (who hasn't) and often the way it was dealt with wasn't the mot efficient or evolved (I'm human too), but it's been a great learning curve.

In your Birth Chart, MARS is where you look to determine what makes you mad, how you get angry and whether you have any karmic patterns that need untying this lifetime.

Born with Mars Retrograde for example (draw your Chart and locate the Symbol above, that's Mars. If it has an R next to it, that means Retrograde), you don't use your Personal Mars the same as others without it. Maybe you stifle your anger and implode (or build up so much pressure you wind up exploding). Maybe in a prior life you were violent and don't want to repeat the same pattern.

How is your Personal Mars?

Mine is in the 3rd House so i EXPRESS my anger (3rd House of Communication). Others complain sometimes I am too punchy, too direct, too aggressive in how I speak (especially when voicing my displeasure or anger). To me, I'm simply being direct and upfront in the way I hope others will be with me. Needless to say, that others don't always see it that way. My Mars, thankfully, is in pretty good shape this lifetime. If not, I'd be a limp lettuce (and a bad writer!).

This Full Moon is ruled by Mars since this is the planet connected to Aries. Impatience is sure to rise in you (be careful of speeding tickets, road rage and general argumentativeness). But so is Taking a Leap into the unknown - doing something new and courageous. Taking a Stand. Yet, Aries also relates to War, such an easy path to follow once you lose track of yourself and what you want. It's a fine line between assertiveness and aggression yet there is room for both. When faced with an attacking Mountain Lion (thankfully I've seen none in my new neighborhood yet there are bears here) your Mars kicks in and you fight back! When someone pisses you off, however your Personal Mars dictates how things may play out.

Channel your energy now into Working Out, Renovating, PHYSICAL stuff to burn off any stress you're carrying. Work on your physical appearance. Chop Wood, Carry Water. Keep busy. Get Stuff Done. Mars rules Sexuality - so anticipate extra hormones this next two weeks as we're juiced up and seeing red with "Testosterone Mars".

Remember, your Personal Desires are important - and they are rightfully yours so respect them. Because the Full Moon is a time when the Sun is opposite the Moon, the Aries Moon is opposed by the Sun in Libra - so we're still trying to figure out where WE are in all of this (Aries), surrounded by the loud needs of the OTHER in your life (Libra).

Start with yourself - root out your needs and desires. Realize not everyone can help you fulfill them but you have a better shot if you express them. Maybe try and fulfill them yourself. Be direct, upfront, clear just avoid nastiness, it's simply not worth it.

Whether you wind up having a two week period of Action Packed Adventure and New Leads or whether you have to face old issues, arguments, bangs/bruises, suppressed anger or actual violence (or just a headache) can be determined by HOW you respond to life's current events, and your Astrological Birth Chart.

I'll help you understand your Inner Mars and what your Chart says about this particular Full Moon period for you if you sign up for my special FULL MOON RITUAL READING - for one week only, from the time of each Full Moon.

Remember, you already ARE you so there is nothing to prove. The question is, can you accept you for who you are and continue working on improving your response-ability to life and taking into account the needs of others? It takes courage but that's what this Full Moon is all about.

To Assertively Fulfilling your Own Desires and Bravely Marching Forward,

Full Moon in Cancer (Jan 12)

Cancer Full Moon

Jan 12

Much comes out, at this Full Moon. A nice release moment before we begin a new annual voyage. Cancer Full Moons are always deeply felt. In very private ways. Some bring a deep and abiding feeling of comfort, protection and security, in the safety of the tribe, the team, the family, in the warm familiar walls of Home. Others bring a sense of being torn from the nest, taking us back to a time when we could not fly, or simply entertained the notion we may never fully learn how to, on our own.

2017's Cancer Full Moon is part of a Cardinal Square. A fixed grid that demands that New Action Be Taken Immediately. Nothing can remain stagnant now. Change leaves an impression on us, once again. In Cancer, it's sensitive and close to home. Something has to change, or something already is. the emotions we unearth around this time, always, always find roots in our Mother and Father experience, in What Went On Back Then. The past comes into view again, through an even more emotional lens to get our attention and to reconnect us to our core - so that we can better feed our souls and give ourselves the roots and grounding we need  during our physical time on Earth.

Some may be entertaining ideas of moving. Some may find themselves homeless.

Since the FM is a purge time, when tears are shed, [more alcoholic drinks are imbibed and time and time again those in emergency rooms and police departments see a definite influx of people around this time], raw emotions are going to come up - relating to how insecure or comfortable you feel, relating to the nurturing or lack thereof within your family tree, where you live and whether it again feeds your needs or leaves you feeling un-grounded, relating to what happened in your past and whether it gives you a firm foundation to build upon or reminds you to uproot and build elsewhere.

This emotional illumination or emotional revelation will serve you. It may hurt, plunging you back into uncertainty, but it will help in the uprooting of old emotional scripts echoing through your life's journey so that you are free to Find Out What Your Needs Are and go about Fulfilling Them For Yourself in even better ways than you have so far.

Sometimes it's just the FEELING that wants to be found and felt and freed.
So events arise to help us find them.

Pluto opposing this Full Moon is like the ache you feel between what you know you need and what must be given up to be fulfilled. You can't have it both ways, not at this Full Moon. Something has to give. And it will always come back and come down to how you feel and what you feel you must have, in life, with no room for compromise. Pluto opposing can help sever us from toxic connections to people or plans if we are willing to put how we feel, at the top of our list of priorities.

Jupiter squaring from Libra could be the challenge we each now find ourselves facing in how to handle our emotional natures without the need for absolute compromise. Sometimes, people lose, feelings get hurt. Sometimes there is no middle ground, there is no grey, there is only This or That. Much as we may now try to keep the peace by following rules of etiquette, the Full Moon in Cancer WILL have her way with us in revealing (bringing to our awareness through actual events of inner feelings) what we feel. It's up to us whether to act on it, repress it, deny it, fight it.

What will you do with the feelings that arise around this time?

Uranus squaring from Aries could be the angry inner animal we all possess, the primal side of our warrior spirits that wants to do as it pleases, with no thought but to being the most authentic free "Me" we can be. Explosive anger then, could be the hallway of this tie to the Cancer Full Moon, since Aries-Cancer is protective at best, and fiercely defensive at worst. Be careful you don't overstep the line and cross into someone else's personal space or territory at this time. And be wary of triggers and sudden irrational reactions. Cancer Full Moons can pull in the passive-aggressive, emotional manipulator side of this sign.

That's another key theme. Emotional Abuse. The manipulating of someone else to feel a certain way. Like advertising experts. Like the mother who threatens to cancel Christmas to get her way. The father who ignores his kids as punishment. Or the partner who scoffs at your sadness. However subtle, we are AWARE of it now, and we know when someone is setting out to deliberately hurt us.
A long time standing emotional pattern could be about to end in your life, if you're willing to withdraw your involvement from it. Cancer Full Moons help in the dissolution of toxic loyalty or trauma bonding, any bad habits you want to give up and anything or anyone you no longer want to be attached to.

This Full Moon - remember that feelings pass. No need to get that worked up about anything, except...how you feel. A Catch 22? Honoring our feelings is essential now, but not living through them abandoning reason and sound judgement. Something from the past needs resolution and completion but part of us may want to hold on, To the old ways of doing and the old ways of being, but this only delays growth, snags up the traffic and blocks your flow. The past can often be resolved by facing the present with more awareness and...presence.  From nearly 24 years now in the field (time has flown, and what they say is true - I have enjoyed it!) I have seen countless times that our past (past lives, childhood, history) repeats throughout our lives as an echo, perhaps purified each time by our presence and actions, but always there, just behind the events and pictures, people and places of our Present Moment Lives. Major growth doesn't always come in huge leaps and bounds but in the gradual repetition of new patterns of behavior, through the many days of our lives.

And sometimes, only the names have been changed....

Realize that despite your best efforts at catering to everyone to find a Win-Win, that you can't please everyone, and you're allowed to feel how you feel. You're free to react how you please, and act how you please but that it's a Higher Path and a Harder Path to rein in the raw, savage and to express our feelings without apology or guilt, shame or regret. The Lower Path is always available to us - regression back to childish behavior to bend those close to us to our whims and ways. As always, it's our Free Will Choice.

Accept what comes up around this time. Feel how it makes you feel. Decide what you'll do with the new insight. Stay? Go? Surge ahead? Pull back? Then turn your attention to finding a safe and grounded space of your own again, where you are safe to tend to your private needs, be yourself and safe to feel how you feel..until that feeling passes too.

Enjoy cocooning,

Neil

Emotional Tug of War: Full Moon in Libra (April 2)

Every War is a Tug of War.

Since war implies conflict you can't have one unless one side is battling against another side.

They're the folk who will be excited with the Libra Full Moon on April 2.

Libra is the midway sign in the Astrological Circle, implying a middle ground, a dividing line. "me" and "you" for instance. Libra is the sign of partnership (we know the rumor about single Libras and their inevitable depression).

Since Full Moons are are a completion, a release and a peak emotional time, and Libra is the sign of the "other", then it's a sure sign of an emotional tug of war in some area of our lives.

I know I'm riddled with irritation daily at the moment, since Change is wafting through my life, and I'm sure you all are. So to claim we're fully at peace would be a pretty amazing and surprising thing to say. It's not impossible, but I guess that most of us are in conflict with at least one person, situation, event or encounter.

Growth doesn't HAVE to be painful!

This Full Moon hits my natal Pluto (and will hit yours too if you were born late 75 to late 78). So it should be interesting to see what karmic challenges await and what powerful emotions and new pathways will open up as those of us in this time period will get to step into our power and focus on the work we came here to do.

For everyone else, whether the relationship issues are small or large, it's ALL ABOUT US. It's deeply personal. You choose whether to stop or go. You can cut someone off if it's unhealthy or you can sign a new contract because you want to grow with someone. Aries Full Moon (Oct 22)

Read the full story on the Full Moon in Aries.

With Saturn (karmic responsibility, discipline, structure, limitation) still in Aries opposite sign of Libra, there's a theme of Growing Up, facing up to your obligations to not only others (Libra) but also to yourself (Aries) now. A push pull always exists at the time of the Full Moon when the Sun and Moon are in opposing signs.

In Aries/Libra, the swing between self/others continues. Karmic material may surface (Saturn in Libra) but we need to decide what our part in every situation truly is (Moon in Aries).

Are you happy with your side of the deal?

At 29 Degrees (A "Critial Degree" and the last degree of the sign) issues reach a peak, the lesson is just about learned, complete. In Aries, the lesson is simple: Aggression has a place. Anger has its role. Asserting your rights is key. But war for the sake of war, has no place.

The true warrior defeats only the ego.

Career shifts now represent a move towards something better for us. Delays, frustrations, kinks in the works, are all temporary annoyances on the road to longer term fulfilmment.

The "Void of Course" Moon

Astrologers each use various devices and tricks and tools to interpret the planetary movements. I'm amazed that many don't use the Lunar Nodes - when from my experience they hold SO much information. Others may find it surprising I don't stare ominously at what they call the Void of Course Moon.

The Nodes comprise such a bulk of my work that without them, you really don't have a handle on the Chart of a person (or anything). it's just cycles, blurring into cycles, and energies that come at you from all angles. With no central theme. However the Void of Course is a lesser but much used tool of timing.

The Moon moves rapidly through the signs - 2 and a half signs a day so complete its monthly sojourn. Our emotions follow suit - changing along with the lunar cycle colors. In Leo today we're all feeling the Leo energy but in various ways depending on where the Moon falls within our Charts of course.

In my 9th House, I actually ended up contacting a fellow Astrologer to compliment him on his marvellous book, and we exchanged emails (the 9th house relates to publishing, books, knowledge, teachers). The book is called Sunshines: The Astrology of Being Happy' by Michael Lutin. It actually comprises of a look at both the Sun and the Lunar Nodes together. A much needed addition to the Astrological body of work out there.

The Full Moon will arrive in my 9th house - and I'm expecting to wrap up a lot of work on my own book. I may hear news from overseas, the other 9th House theme. I've been looking into taking a trip out of town to Vegas. The 9th = long distance trips. The themes are endless but they all relate to how I'm using Leo energy in a 9th house fashion.

Back to my original point - I never much cared for the "voice of course" moon. It's a term given to a period of time when the Moon's energy is 'out to lunch' and anything we begin during these times is likely to not amount to much. White Noise. Dead air. A void. Emotionally it's not exactly a fulfilling time for something we want to launch. It is claimed, however, that it's great for napping, staying home or at leats kicking back a bit, self-nurturing and just waiting things out.

I guess with my Aries South Lunar Node I'm not a fan of waiting around for things, so I tend to disregard these timing devices sometimes, because I reckon 'if it's meant to work it will'. (Not that I'm always on time, so perhaps I need to listen to myself more...)

So this is where you come in as your own Astrologer. I'm posting the dates here for you to check it out for yourself. Drop me a note and let me know your findings. It's not a major thing we need to stick to, but it's worthwhile if we want to avoid what is claimed "emotional ARGHS" of this period if we don't.

That's some Astrological Lore for you. If you're thinking of moving home, signing on a real estate deal, contacting your Mother, or planning conception, these are times it's best to work around and plan for. The Moon relates to all these things. In surgery, Astrologers have worked with doctors to avoid operations when the Moon is moving through the sign related to the part of the body in question (Aries - head down to pisces - feet...we can talk more on that another time). Question? Just email me at Neil@NewWorldAstrology.com.

SO when the Moon is in Cancer, stomach and breast/chest operations are forbidden. It often ends in complications. I'd say this would work doubly so then, under a Void of Course Moon. Maybe it just doesn't solve the original problem.

I haven't tested this as the Moon is such an unstable, emotional energy. It talks about the small niggling things in our day to day lives.

I prefer to focus more on Mercury Retrograde and other energies that seem to throw the world into chaos. That's my dramatic 5th House South Node (the Leo house!). I'm a sucker for excitement.

And what do you know? Mercury goes retrograde on Feb 14, just in time for Valentine's Day! Expect to hear from a past lover (and me), for sure. Good or bad? Depends how naughty or nice you were, doesn't it...

Enjoy playing around with the Void of course Moon times...

Love,
Neil

or rather they inspire these things. For us to make these things, or avoid them.

Depends on which side of the see saw you sit and what you truly want!

This is my detailed look at other Libra Full Moons so you have an idea on what this is all about too.

Cosmic Cupid's Arrow under a Libra New Moon (Oct 4)

The New Moon on Oct 4 falls at 11 Degrees Libra. Not only that but 11 degrees and 56 minutes (11-11) for those seeing this particular double number on Clocks, Digital Displays, Receipts and other random places on a regular basis, this could be a very interesting week.

The Libra New Moon tells a story. The Chart is attached if you want to follow along. A quincunx from the Taurus South Node reminds me that the world has the munchies. Not that everyone is stoned (although Neptune in Pisces means you're definitely finding one drug of choice and enjoying it - even if that's sleeping). We are all hungry right now. For security. Old physical desires, appetites are rife as are stubborn refusals to change or budge, old spending habits, self worth issues, over fixation or worry about physical realm stuff (food, sex, insatiable hungers, money).

There's the rub with the Libra New Moon - which seeks harmony and balance not an over-concern over anything so crass as the Physical Dimension. Libra seeks Balance and Shared Experiences.

Chiron in Pisces hints at old hurts still plaguing us (in dreams or waking life), sorry & sad stories from ego-trauma, nightmares or unhealed skeletons in the closet, the need for medication or the addicted, feelings of powerlessness, idle hands make the devil's playground etc.

All these create a rub with this particular Libra New Moon because they could cause rifts in relationships or general malaise with other people you're dealing with. For each person you face this week, look behind their eyes and realize there are hurts/wounds there that remain, and there's more going on that meets the eye. Judgments don't help.

The best of this combo is compassionately respecting the fact that everyone's hurting somewhere and how they act could reflect and reveal this. Give some leeway.

The Cancer Jupiter doesn't help so much with overindulgent mega moods this week and the potential for over-inflating past emotional material. We want MORE-MORE-MORE of our creature comforts, favorite foods, familiar habits and safe lifestyle.  Who wouldn't right now? How do we handle such huge emotions based on past experiences in the context of getting along with each other in the Here and Now? There's an expansion of Feelings going on upon Planet Earth, I'm not sure if you feel it. Sensitive types do (those with strong water signs or Neptune in their Charts). There's an expansion of feelings and needs, but are they going towards building bridges or to sit and dwell on the past all the while missing the potential for Real Human Contact right here right now. Will you let your feelings guide you to connect? No text messages, no emails, just on the phone or in person real time dialogue.

Pluto in Capricorn of course is the ultimate inner parent - firm and final throwing us Rules, Regulations that can disrupt or tear apart relations right now. Control is a huge potential issue, with those you're dealing with.  Who is boss? Is it healthy leadership or a tyrant/bully? In partnerships should there even be a 'boss'? No one steers the ship alone. Its all "we" stuff right now. A Pluto Square is an opportunity to ditch the dark material by going through it as it comes up, without letting it pile up, without letting it fester. Exposing abuse where it exists. Don't forget, that some of the control/powerless feelings right now stem from things that went on in your past and childhood (the 10th/4th house axis is one of Parenting).  With two planets on this axis, parental patterns and problems are revisited to re-shape energy spent stuck in their curse but acceptance leading to our empowerment(Pluto/10th) and growth beyond them (Jupiter/4th).

Does your union need rules or structures? Are some of them archaic and outdated? Who is following whose lead or is there mutual respect and joint rule-making? Is power being handled fairly between both parties? The world picture continues to reflect the same game playing out in your home and mine. In businesses across the planet. And between countries or next door neighbors.

Notice the ARROW pointing to this Libra New Moon! True Synergy - the Sun and Moon in Libra. The male and female. The Parents. At the same time, Venus and Mars fight in their square aspect. While there is a chance for our Inner Parents to agree and come together, our inner boy and girl both need something - attention (Venus) and action (Mars). Sex and play. Depth and fun. Seething egos. Power plays. Passion and Joy. Explore between Mars and Venus here and see how you'd like this tension to play out for you and those you're currently 'dancing' or 'fighting' with?

Sun and Moon - we are both male and female, we need to learn when to PUSH and when to let things come (PULL) to you. As always with a square, you're damned if you do damned if you don't often, but at least you're trying. Dual Action soothes the friction of the "internal conflict" square. Sometimes you push, sometimes you pull. Sometimes the timing is off, sometime it just works. Either way, you're living and learning.

Uranus opposing this Libra New Moon is like the crazy relative who crashes the wedding late and whispers in the ear of the bride and groom (Sun and Moon) that by coming together they lose their individual freedoms or who comes bearing a banner 'Be Yourself!'. But how can you possibly retain your individual sense of self while sharing and compromising, swimming in a pool both contaminated and enhanced by the energy signature of another? What's often forgotten in a Uranus opposition is the potential for a period of space (or separation) in order to regain a sense of self that CAN be shared. Two true individuals can have true mutual respect, support, care, concern and the willingness to work through the rough times. Libra is the cement that glues us together in preparation for the Scorpio storm, when the honeymoon is officially over and the hard work of real human love begins (AKA the time when most people bail). Thankfully, with Saturn in Scorpio we are working on bonds already forged...or trying to loosen the shackles.

Sometimes, under a Libra New Moon all it takes is a new approach to Sharing, a new way to experience relationship, a coming together or separating on agreed upon mutual ground. The dance must be sacred. It must respect all signs, both parties.

The Libra New Moon is the time of legal agreements and arguments For or Against. And a time of new artistic expressions and appreciation for the natural symmetry, harmony and balance of Nature, which always finds a way to co-exist. It's about breathing new life into existing relationships and partnerships and alliances or separating to realize the unique core self (Uranus in Aries). So new relationships or renewed relations are possible now.

It's not so much  about the person you're dealing with this week, it's about Love itself, the energy of sharing - voicing insecurities, talking through ideas, finding a middle ground between two different styles/ideas/opinions/lifestyles. It's about the Fairness. The ability to be able to Agree to Disagree. To look at the Situation not the Person as our "issue". Can we allow LOVE to flow from ourselves to others and from others to ourselves without judging the person themselves and getting lost in the many triggers that could be used as opportunities to get closer in a world fast teaching people to get used to being apart.

A united world involves just that - uniting with others. Not just those who think like you, or look similar or like the same taste in music. With any other. Certainly with those who have crossed your path. Out of the billions of people in the world, you ended up with the specific people around you for a reason.

Maybe this week we can make more of an effort to truly relate to those around us?

We are all walking triggers for each other. So in that respect, sometimes people love you, sometimes they hate you. We love them and then hate them. We each hold up mirrors to each other. With each trigger, (seeing something in that person/mirror you don't like) you learn something new about yourself - what you're capable of, how potential power, your dark secrets or insecurities and your amazingly powerful abilities. It's not easy but then the path to self-knowledge never came from simply reading a book or taking a course.
On Planet Earth,  it's about living. Physically embodying energies.

This week's living message is this: what will The Other reveal to you about Yourself?

Sagittarius Full Moon Scopes (May 2)

Archery (sign of Sag, the Centaur/Archer) is tricky. I found I was good at darts when I was younger and I was too shy to chat to people at the local bar. My Moon is in Sag, so perhaps that's why? Naturally good aim.

That's key now: WHERE ARE YOU AIMING?  What are you aiming AT? What is your goal?
Without an answer, you're shooting from the hip (the part of the body also ruled by Sag).

HONESTY is key. Without it, you're screwed. Square Neptune, this Full Moon has its fair share of tall tales, courtesy in part by a nice easy aspect from Jupiter,

FORTUNE FAVORS the BOLD.
Remember this!

Since I missed the Weekly Scopes here is a (very brief) run down on the theme for the next two weeks for each sign:

ARIES: Beat the Truth drum but be careful of the germs of doubt or depression that dampen your light.

TAURUS: Admit your sexual needs. Be above board in all $ transactions but be careful of "friends" who threaten to drag you to their level.

GEMINI: Truly HEAR what others are saying about or to you. Avoid glossing over harsh truths and be wary of office politics and shady fiascoes.

CANCER: You now know what works and what doesn't. Simple. Not letting dark fantasies cloud your vision. Tricky.

LEO: Your happiness is in YOUR hands. But be wary of hormones that build everything up to come crashing down just for the sake of the High Drama you thrive on.

VIRGO: Build on truth, pull the rug out from lies. Be wary of victims trying to lure you in to pity parties to drain your precious reserves.

LIBRA:
Say it like you mean it! Just be careful your health isn't affected when you feel guilt creeping in for your abrupt tone.

SCORPIO: Think positively about the whole money thing or you'll deplete your own good fortune. Watch out for any residue  victim-vibes secretly yanking the strings within your heart.

SAGITTARIUS: LIVE your truth, quietly, loudly. Be Yourself. Just offload that mouth of yours, preferably on paper? Be careful, old emotional material (and family/home patterns) could pull you under again.

CAPRICORN: As long as YOU live with virtue and honesty, to heck with everyone else. Be wary of thoughts that leads you down the dark labyrinth you've traversed many times before.

AQUARIUS: Celebrate the allies who cheer you on. Mutual Support systems in place! Careful, money management is shaky.

PISCES: You stand for Integrity and Principle. Just don't allow your weak moments to topple you.

The Cardinal Grand Cross & Libra Lunar Eclipse
April 2014

There was a time when people made little connection between their personal lives and celestial forces. But that time is over.

Astrology may not be able to always tell you precisely how something will manifest (since your participation is always one half of the equation) - but it always answers the "Why".

Because the pressure to evolve
has become too great for anything to stay the same.

Right now, everyone is banding together energetically (even in areas where conflict continues to divide us physically) through a Neptune in Pisces ability to 'pick up' energies in the ether (think shark's smelling blood or dolphin sonar). It's as if everyone suddenly became more psychic, whether they choose to open up to it, or not.

Everyone on Planet Earth knows that we live in a New Time. Uncertain. Ever Changing. Surprising. As the Old World goes through its death throes (complete with loud noises, struggles, refusals and resistances) the New World remains unformed, created by the both the acceptance of what no longer works or is no longer available to us...and ...the new energetic pathways we create in our individual minds (and Cosmic Mind) through the simple act of living more consciously.

Are you where you thought you'd be by now?

The answer will always be NO, because whether you're doing better or worse than you feel you should be, life has other plans, there are always surprises. Our lives are stories. Movies. Just as the Universe affects us, we affect it. The Universe grows as we change our reactions to events. Sometimes you can surprise the Universe as much as it surprises you.  We're living in one of those periods. When we take new pathways, when we stand up and face a fear and keep moving, when we fall apart and begin the process of putting ourselves back together again, when we continue to keep a light on through dark times.

These days, simply admitting you have a problem, takes enormous guts.

We weren't all meant to be born as Astrologers, but we all become one when we see the correlation between how we feel, what is playing out and what the larger cosmic forces are reflecting back to us.

Right now - as we move into April and May 2014, things continue to change, on an ever-faster acceleration.

                  Boom!
                                           Crack!
                                                                            Aha!

     Awakenings.                                                                          Whoa!
                                   Revelations.
                                                                   Breakdowns.
                                                                                                        Breakthroughs.

Karma comes flying around, whether we can trace its roots or not. When life seems unfair, remember that. Don't, however, assume you are being punished for every crummy thing that unfolds before you (and do your damnedest to avoid getting sucked into battles that aren't your own), and if you are a target for karmic payback your only job is to not to pollute your world further, ultimately freeing yourself.   At the same:

open to the possibility that a nice, normal, quiet day
is actually IS good karma, being paid in kind.

Nothing is as it seems down here on Planet Earth. The simple is often complex. The most honest can be fraught with the most deceit. Things are unstable. And everyone is waking up to that. While some continue to slumber, it's up to the awake to move forward as consciously as possible.

Whether through turmoil or celebration, we WILL all come together. It's inevitable.
Maybe not through beliefs, maybe not through laws. Maybe not even through agreement.

But through Human Empathy.

Protect yourself this April and May. Psychic Shields up. Appearances are more deceiving that ever before. Life throws you challenges but never without a blessing. Accept both with an equal and open heart.

April and May will Bring It.
May your Response from here on in be "Bring It ON!"

Neil

Celebrity Karma: Lana Del Rey

View Lana's Chart here

Singer Lana Del Rey is a 29 Degree Gemini (the sabian symbol for which is "Bathing Beauties") born close to a Sagittarius Full Moon (creating an opposition between her Sun/Moon) reflecting a deep divide in her Nature, a 'split' revealing itself in a perpetual restlessness and an eternally seeking/questing/moving (Gemini/Sag) pull between asking questions (Gemini) and the unpredictable running off (Uranus conjunct Sag Moon) in search of answers, or just the rush, relief and release of Freedom. And a need to pass on what she knows.

I've always been intrigued by the 'karmic signature' in our chart and how it plays out again in our current lifetime, so here we'll explore Lana's life through its past-life patterns.

Lana's song's are heavily laced with the theme of karmic relationships (it's you, it's you it's all for you)  and love lost ("then they took you away, stole you out of my life"), which is so beautifully reflected in her chart's karmic back-story. Often we have no other outlet for voicing the unacknowledged parts of our psyche, than through symbols, through our artwork -

a 12th house way of dealing with
 (through fantasy, imagery, poetry, music)
12th house issues
(repressions, forgotten or buried memories,
trapped energies, unresolved issues)

Her 12th House cusp (Cancer) represents old emotional wounds unresolved from prior lives. Its ruler (the Moon) is located in the 5th House of Love Affairs and Playful Games, in the sign of Sagittarius (freedom, adventure) conjunct Uranus (sudden splits, rebels). Just a glance at her videos and we spot one actor who tightly resembles someone from her past (in an interview she even said he reminded her of a special love in her life...). Lana's karmic signature seems to suggest a history of relationships that were either formed or lost on the road (Sag), that taught her a lot and opened up her experience of the world and was just plain fun (Sag/Uranus/5th) and that would end up forming the basis of her creative works (ruler of 12th in 5th). The Moon is also square Jupiter in the 8th in Pisces, a sign of her former loves inspired her to indulge heavily in reaching other states (Jupiter is overindulgence, the 8th is intense experiences like sex and Pisces notoriously connected with drugs/alcohol/escapism ("make me laugh let's go get high"). On the flip side this could have suggested an exploration of soul-bonding (Pisces), especially through difficult and intense times and transitions (8th).

Artists inevitably end up expressing unresolved parts of their Charts through their work, in this case Lana's choice of lyrics. her south node in Libra reflects a past life pattern of losing her personal identity in others: "Can you make it feel  like Home if I tell you you're Mine..."...."This is what makes us girls...we all look for heaven and we put our love first") putting relationship (Libra) before all else for the Other in our life ("Heaven is a place on earth where you, tell me all the things you want to do").

Even Saturn the Lord of karma is tightly conjunct Juno the asteroid of marriage revealing that part of her karmic this time around is to team up with those who are equally as invested in the union, not those who suddenly up and leave,  as it was in the past that left unresolved yearning and longing for security (Cancer on cusp of 12th house). The ruler of her karmic south node is Venus, found in the unresolved karmic 12th house, representing some issue still dragging over from the past: unrequited love? It is a Leo Venus, representing the grand love, the type you'd give everything for, that stirs up echoes of damsels in distress and passionate exchanges (let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain, you like your girls insane - rain/insane being two aspects of the Pisces-related 12th house.

"There has always been the melancholy in me called desire...
this feeling has been with me for a lifetime.
But I do not suffer.
I'd rather say I've learned to get used to my sadness"

The 12th house is also connected to places of rehabilitation, seclusion or imprisonment, where we're left to face and deal with our inner demons. Few know Lana "worked in a center for the homeless  and rehabilitation center for alcoholics and drug addicts since I was 18". And in February, she announced she was working on a "second spiritual album".

Squaring Pluto (the planet of core wounds, deep transformation and death: Lana said she thought death would be a paradise in a recent interview), her Venus truly is attracted to the dark side and relationships that will inevitably transform her idea and concept of love. Pain is all part of the package ("i know that love is mean and love hurts." Love lives on after death, she has no doubt about that: she's the living example of that ("I will love you til the end of time"..I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side"...But there also is that unrequited love again. Memories of former loves and the one that got away, serving as an inspiration to her work. With heavy-hitting Pluto in the deepest most personal part of her Chart (the 4th house of emotional foundations, home and family), there may have been karmic attractions within the family, secret or illicit love. Or family abuse of some kind ("Daddy" references are littered throughout her songs).  Deep, dark emotions are natural with such a dark planet dwelling in her foundational 4th and most of it will no doubt be kept secret. Lana's deepest private pains will likely remain private until she decides to do some soul-archaeology via that 4th House Pluto.

Uranus, the unpredictable ruler of her 7th House of Relationship (found in erratic and rebellious Aquarius) is also tied up to the Moon (ruler of 12th) in her 5th house of Love Affairs, revealing her attraction to the outsider, the free-spirit and the rebel ("you were ahead of the trend get get it") is still alive and well in this lifetime.

Her North Node (karmic soul direction) in Aries suggests Lana will spend more periods of her lifetime on her own this time around, figuring out what her drives are as a unique individual, as a balance to pursuing relationship at the expense of her own personal development. When she is in a relationship, she'll be tested on whether it's fair - ie, whether she is putting more effort and energy in compared to her significant other (Saturn/Juno) and whether she is still pursuing her own interests outside the needs/demands of the partnership itself. Her Aries North Node is located in her 9th house of the Higher Mind, Belief Systems & Personal Philosophy (her south node in the 3rd reflected in her lyrics 'scared that I couldn't find all the answers, honey')The ruler of her north node is Mars and is found in her 6th house of Work/Health and in Capricorn (the business executive or manager) we see she has potential to channel her own ambitious drive and workaholic tendencies (and perfectionist ideals) into practical projects. In other words, this lifetime, Lana's mission is to channel all her love-angst and adventurous spirit into a committed focus on her work and health.

Coming from prior lives where love was exciting, full of adrenalin and dangerous, is addictive and our soul's continue to remember. So through her lyrics, we see the haunting love that remains from the shadows and debris of her past, now communicated (Gemini/Sagittarius) into her work as a form of personal identity reinforcement (North Node in Aries) as she carves her own path this time around.

It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby, now you do

(from Video Games)

"don't make me sad, don't make me cry
sometimes, love is not enough, and the road gets tough
I don't know why..."
(from Born to Die)
(Libra South Node, Venus in Leo in 12th square Pluto in Scorpio in 4th,
North Node in Aries in 9th)

Mercury Retrogrades Soon...

To give you a heads-up we have another slowing down, reviewing period, in order to let life catch up with us. Mercury retrogrades on Sep 24 at 22 Degrees Libra.

We're already in the shadow of retrograde which means you may be feeling some of the usual shifts - forgetfulness, appointments changed or canceled, plans re-drawn, finding lost objects, coming across old friends/flames, and generally a feeling of having to retrace steps or go back over old ground.

Stay tuned for more on this, for now - wrap up as much as you can under this Full Moon phase, and prepare to slow down and backtrack to double check your progress soon.

Sweet Surrender: Pisces Solar Eclipse March 18

Sunday March 18 (around 6.42pm PDT) is the Solar Eclipse in Pisces.

This is a Major Manifestation period, when we get to plan 'wish seeds' for what we desire. It's a focal point of energy when the Sun, Moon and Earth align in the final sign of Pisces.

New Moons are about new beginnings, especially under a Solar Eclipse, but this is the final sign of the zodiac, and related to endings. What does all this mean?

Let's break it down - it's emotional. Even though this is a Solar Eclipse (related to our solar side, or ego and identity) it's an emotional one. It's an emotional time when we get to see ourselves in our true light (not as we appear to be to others or ourselves nor how we want to be, or how we used to be. It's how we are right here right now reading these words and living this moment.

Who are you now?

As the Sun is covered by the shadow of the Moon, emotions (moon) cloud our very being momentarily. Suddenly we're irrational creatures, operating entirely through our unconscious motivations (namely all those reactions that have been repeated so often as to become part of our 'auto-pilot survival system'.) So expect some old patterns to play out which will force you to stop and say 'Whoa - this again?'.

This time we get to do it differently, by choosing to DELIBERATELY REACT DIFFERENTLY.

Pisces is the most sensitive sign because it involves a surrender of sorts - a cosmic orgasm, a sigh of "reality-relief" when we exhale, let go, release and give it up. Give what up? The emotion, the desire, the game, the fight, the trying, the maintaining, the working, the stress, the frustration, the elation, the hope, the anxiety, the excitement, the possibility.

We just are.

Everyone on Earth is participating in this grand Letting Go. Some people will choose to exit their bodies at this time (which is a regular daily occurrence but which may become significantly higher at this time, whether in the public eye or the person on the street) because death is a form of letting go. There are many manifestations:

Suddenly you don't want to keep pushing and you stop all activity and just breathe.
You decide to go swimming instead of sitting around stressing about what to do next.
You sleep in an extra 12 hours with no alarm clock.
You cry - at a memory, a movie, something happens to dissolve your inner walls and helps you feel again
You drink like a fish and stagger home chuckling
You drink like a fish and wind up in hospital
You're high on drugs and repeat the first two steps
You tap into some Spiritual Power than enables you to paint THE most amazing picture, writ e a blockbuster novel or wind up helping someone out just when they were going to give up

There's a big difference between giving up now, and surrendering it up. One is quitting, the other is quitting pushing/blocking/forcing/manipulating energy and becoming stressed out because things aren't working "the way you want them to work".

This Solar Eclipse is wonderful for taking a break from reality - for getting "high" in a way that brings us closer together with our real selves (the stripped down sensitive soul we all have hidden not far beneath the surface) instead of further away from that core, through playing victim to life's tumultuous tides.

So - Make Your Wish. Choose your Reality. Design your Destiny.
Focus. Give it full emotional power - how much do you want it.
Finally - breathe out and let it go.

Life teaches us one thing, no matter what else is happening - to take it in, but then let it out.
Like breathing. No matter what is happening, we can't forget to exhale. To let go of what we've taken in.

The Great Karmic Completion is here, but the new dawn begins when we can release the night and not hold on, by keeping our own Suns down - our sun sign in Astrology is the gift given, the life path chosen, the energy we're here to shine into the world.

This Eclipse:

Aries shines by letting go of inner demons and tapping into their Dreams
Taurus shines by letting go of confusing directions and friends and daring to drift and dream
Gemini shines by letting go of the illusion of control and flowing into work that feels the spirit
Cancer shines by letting go of beliefs that separate them from others and take a spiritual pilgrimage into new realms
Leo shines by letting go of all lower energy feelings and letting themselves off the hook
Virgo shines by letting go of confusion and painful partnership patterns and swimming with sensitive souls
Libra shines by letting go of unhealthy habits and dedicating more time to just Being
Scorpio shines by letting go of their unfed need for approval and sharing their spirit of creativity
Sagittarius shines by letting go of their pasts and feelings of victimhood and being in the feeling of the Moment only
Capricorn shines by letting go of nebulous thinking and clouded vision and communicating their intuitive feelings
Aquarius shines by letting go of insecurity and financial avoidance and using their emotions as a tool to use to bring greater abundance
Pisces shines by letting go of old scripts of how they need/should be and allowing a new sense of worth and strength and sense of Rights in Being Here.

We're all diving in the ocean - whether land snaps off and we're left coasting along without a surfboard, or whether we're intuitively prepared to swim, sail or snorkel our way into deeper waters and the possibility of being shipwrecked onto a new island.

The depths of these current Pisces waters leads to either the pearl in the oyster, a shipwreck, or shark infested waters. It all depends on whether we fear, whether we trust, whether we have faith or whether we avoid diving in.

Spring awaits us, with an Aries promise of a new miracle. But first, we must get off the diving board. Sure it may seem a long way off (your dream or desire) but you never know, if you don't let go.

You never know,
if you don't let go.

Let go...

Love,
Neil
